So rather than open up my headlights and paint them all black I'd like to make only the corners darker and the little light bulb over my head thinks tinting film might be a good alternative....

First off, will adehsive tinting film adhere to the plastic headlights in a clean manner?

Secondly, has anyone ever thought of/done this?

Finally, is this just a terrible idea or should I go get some NightShades....

all opinions, criticisms, hate mail and whatnot are freely accepted. I would like some info concerning the tinting film most of all though because I've never used it but really think it might work.

When i got my windows tinted, they were also offering a headlight protector which could be clear/smoked/yellow/or blue.

Price was $80 for both heads installed.

yes it is easy to do it is a special tint though it is very thick, but before you do it it depends on the blulbs you are running and how hot the lens of your headlight gets because it could make it bubble, it shouldnt be too bad at all because there is a lot of spece inside of the headlight. a friend of mine got his tails smokes, headlights blue film and fogs yellow film the fogs are really the only ones you will have to watch out for considering there is not much room inside and it can get very hot

good luck

I got mine done for $25 and I was real pleased with the outcome...and it didn't affect the light output either...but that was not considered tint. He said it was a vinyl of some type.

i'd go with some sort of film. nightshades is just going to ruin your lenses.

it looks a little darker than i'd like but it does look good

where did you get this done?

that's definitely what I needed to hear...I think I'll go shopping sometime this week for film

fatal1- thanks for your tips and advice...i figure the thicker the better but i only wanna go so dark, not lookin to turn the corners black maybe around 30/35% is my guess. when it comes to bulbs i have silverstars in the headlamps and silverstars in the signals, both do get hot, especially the headlight bulbs but like you said there is space and i'm only doing the corners

tint should work fine just take the same steps as if you were to tint your windows

PM Dominicano, he can tell you what to use. He used motocycle film on his headlights. He took it off since then, but it looked really nice.
