They are talking about building a supercharger for our I-4. They already got one for the V6 and from what I understand they are in the process of making the I4 one. http://www.clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php...%20boys&start=0 ('http://www.clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4756&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=pep%20boys&start=0') That one is the link to the post on TGC. Here is the link to the web site. http://www.rippmods.com/ ('http://www.rippmods.com/')

i dunno how this would affect the design but remember the 8g i4 is turned 180 degrees from the 7g i4

I sure hope it wouldn't matter. On thier website they said that they were in the process of building a kit for the galants dating back to 95 I am sure they meant 94, they better, and for the eclipse RS/GS.

is the i4 the engine that comes stock?

The stock I4 for the 8g and the 4g64 are similar setups I believe, just faced at 180 degree angles, so I'm told.

I've never researched a 8g I4, is this a 4g64 or can somebody let us know how this supercahrger with benefit us 7g'ers?

thanks

actually the 8g and 7g i4's are really similar. uhm if they get it developed for the 8g i4, im pretty sure with a lil more r&d they can build one for hte 7g

and as for how this would benefit the 7g owners well think about it. how many forced induction kits are there for the 7g that come str8 out of the box? i mean if this blower gets to happen for the 7g, you can have forced induction str8 out of the box. and i think that would damn skippy

If you guys check out the website, under news it says that they are in the process right now of making one for the 95 and up models of the galant. I posted up a message in the 8g forum and he informed me that they really meant the 94 and up which I figured, but they were about 8 weeks behind. So if the question is are they making one for the 7g the answer is yes. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

Notice that's 180 compared to our 4g64s... But I guess that's about how it will look...

Bad design. The MAS should be BEFORE the supercharger. Shouldn't be too hard to fix, though.

Why is that bad wouldn't you want to be able to measure the amount of air your getting with the sc?

i don't know the exact reason its there but im guessing you can put it between the blower and the filter cuz no matter what, the air still has to pass thru the filter...

The karman air flow meter depends on uniform smooth air to count vortex'es passing by. The supercharger will introduce a lot of turbulence in the air flow. This will screw up our air flow meter. Thus, it should measure the air BEFORE the supercharger. The reading will be accurate then.

Wouldn't you be getting alot more air after the sc than if you measured the air before it? Also wouldn't the the MAS almost become obsolet then if you measured it before. Therefore forcing yourself to get a A/F ratio thing? Just wondering. Don't really know too much about forced indution stuff.

Nope, the Supercharger can't blow more air than it takes in. And you do want the air going through the MAS to be as smooth as possible (thus those little honeycomb thinggies) to get the most accurate reading. Of course, you also want the air non-turbulant going into the engine to get the best possible A/F mix too, but I Don't think a centrifugal supercharger makes that much turbulance. Hmm, I think I'd rather stick with a turbo instead...
