Ok, I decided to install Neons while I have the grage for the weekend...I have 3 problems.

I'm using the streetglow kit that youcan get a pep-boys (yea, i know it has a free pro install card, but hey, I wantto mod MY car, or else whats the point?)

It has a switch to install in the car andI want to install it into that little govebox shelf thing under the A/C controll. How do I get theswitch wire from the engine compartment through the firewall and into the cabin? I spent like 30 minutes trying to figure it out. I'm sure there's just something i'm over looking. Or do I have to make a custom application (drill into the firewall)

Placing the frontandrear neons. I have stock bumpers, and I candrivewiththelights on if thecops can't see the bulb...I solved this by mounting the sideneons to the body pan(that was a pain in the @$$ took me 2 hours with a power drill) but I can't fiure out where to mountthe front/rear ones that the light will come through...I could drill into the gas tank, but i like living...any ideas?

Running the wires to the box, is there a trick to this? i want to make sure that I don't run them through a moving part...but i don't want it to ge ghetto rigged wiering...

Thanks

If you want to do it pro like. Drill my friend. If you look from under the dashboard near the left corner you shoud se a round uncut circle hit it with a center punch (or the like) so that you can see on the fire wall where it will come out.

If the police see the lights on while you are driving, you are screwed anyways so as for hiding them up I don think that will accomplish much. So without that to worry, your rear bumper has a bar to which your bumper is attached by bolts and screws. Six to be exact, this would be a good place to attach brackets and the like.
The front bumper has two big bolts that you can attach to with brackets as well.
Good luck

as for the wires, you should know that parts move and what parts don't. Hoses don't move. SO it's a good idea to follow them with the wires. Stay away from your bests, fans, Pedals (run the wires inside the cabin under the rug, it pulls out easily until you reach the point at which they would go straight up to read the hole you drilled.), Zip Tides.

For the rear bumper light, what i did was, i covered the length of the wire with electric tape and then with plastic bags cut into sections to make sure they are water proof and to help protect from rocks and the such. Then, ziptied them to my non moving rear suspension parts until i reached the side neons at which point i just followed what i'd done with the side tubes wiring. (which was similar.)

Ok, I did see that punch plate (behind the foam padding) but i didn't see whare it came out, it almost looked like it came out into my brae master cylinder (wich would have been bad if i just started drillin)

haha, wires running through my master cylinder & I have neon lights on my gast take (that would my my G the new pinto...BOOM)

ok enought talk about blowing up cars.

o, if anyone has doen the wiring job y driling through the firewall, a pic of the interior and the firewally would be extremely helpfull.

mucho gracias

just checking but you know that the 8g's gastank is pretty much under the rear passenger seat and i have no idea why you wopuld mount neons there?? usually you would do it at the furthest point of each side possible

o... ok i guess my that was the bottom of the spare housing...i guess i could drill into that...at least is would get it off of my bumer

So I did get them installed (pics soon) but the remote switch I used wouldn't let the lights turn on, so I had to put the remote switch at the end of the circuit (basicaly i hooked the power up with the 5 amp fuse then the lights are connected to the ground, but to get it to work I had to ground the + comming out) so the poweris groundingstraight to the chassis

does this seem like it could cause a problem?

if the power wire is grounded straight to the ground then whats the point of having a power wire?

i think you need to post a wiring diagram because i don't get what you're saying.

Ok, I got them installed, and I decided to hook them up to a pilot wireless system so i can turn it on for like 50-100 feet away when someone asks me which car is mine

looks good bro. I can see the ends of the front tube I think under the bumper. That might be a problem if you ever decide to drop the car. Where is the rear tube mounted?
