Spark Plugs???

Hey my NGK ignition wires that i ordered should be coming in anyday now.
And Pavel suggested that i should get some HGK irridium spark plugs....Well i found these on EBAY. They are NGK PLATINUM PLUGS. Will these fit??? And are these worth it or should i look into getting a different set???

Iridiums are great but excessive in price for an I4 where you can just put in new platinum plugs at a fraction of the cost. I suggest Bosch Platinum +2's (2-prong ones).

Some food for thought, all those platinum +4 plugs suck! Don't waste your money. Just go with a standard ngk or autolite plug.

I agree w/ hyer717...all of those so called "super plugs" aren't worth the extra money. The weakest link in our ignition systems is the wires...I heard the nology wires are the best b/c each wire has as serperately grounded capacitor. I myself run just plain NGK plugs.

Stay away from Nology wires; it's not all that they hype it up to be (longterm durability and reliability is significantly jeopardized). Read the The Truth About Ignition Wire Conductors ('http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm') on the Magnecor website ('http://www.magnecor.com').

a little info for everyone..

the factory ignition is MORE than capable of dealing with the needed requirements.

changing your plugs and wires generally does nothing except cause drivability issue.

first, NOTHING beats the factory NGKs.. period. ive seen so many aftermarket plugs screwed in because people think it will give them "more performance" or something.
the truth is that adding a plug does NOTHING for performance unless the plug that is currently in your car is not firing.
and adding bigger plug wires? it also does nothing as the voltage required on the system is exactly the same. if you need 15K volts to fire a plug, chaning plug wires will not alter that.


seriously, friends... changing ignition componants is basically a huge waste of money. with the exception of changing out the plugs on the non-platinum cars every 15000 miles, these ignition systems are basically worry free.
the distributors themselves have issues on the early cars, and a few distributor caps have been known to crack, but thats it.
