Each day i notice the cars exhaust getting louder but i really pay no mind to it. Today i notice its louder than yesterday and yesterday wasnt that bad but today it sounds like a fucking moped. I got it home left it on idle, lifted the hood, and all i could hear was a hollow sound. Somewhere beteween the headers and the flex pipe is a leak i couldnt really do much seeing that the car is hot at the moment. If im going to have to replace anything on the exhaust im just going to do a full 2.5'' upgrade. Does anywhere know where i can buy the piping bent for our cars????? Also if the exhaust leaks in that area will it hurt to drive the car?

Thanks,

Johnas

as long as you aren't smelling any melting plastic smells, or noticing any obvious heat damag eyou will be fine. there is nothign in that area that woudl be dangerous to get hot.

as far as piping, if you want to do it right...
check these guys out!

you can get an entire 2.5" MANDREL bent exhaust from the cat back for 125 bucks. including all the flanges, hangers adn gaskets.
of course you have to weld it yourself... or have a muffler shop do it.

i got my 3" madrel bedn kit from these guys and i recieved it 2 days after i payed.
i took it to an exhaust shop and for 65 bucks they welded me all up!!!

you can use the existing muffler you have,
or if you don't have a performance muffler yet, then you are left with the freedom to choose whichever muffler you desire.

they also sell complete exhaust kits from the cat back including the muffler and already welded up for you to bolt right on.

i already had a muffler so i chose the pipe kits.

the bends are amazing!!
just look at some of these pics of their work!!!

i didn't think it woudl be worth the cost for the stainless kits... i mean aluminzed won't rust for years.

highly reccomended.

as for this very second, if you have exhaust leaks, i reccomend replacing all the gaskets from the upper header back.
jack your car up and secure it on stands.
start it up, get on the ground and trace your exhaust system. not where the leaks are... they will sound like a put-put-put-put
you can get exhaust patch kits at autozone and i will speak for past experience, they do work.
any bit of lost pressure back there will kill your bottom end.

if your exhaust is making noise anywhere other than behind you as you drive, then you ahve some leaks.

good luck.

might as well get a header and downpipe while you are at it

as far as those kits go,
just order any of the kits that are for a 95-99 gst.

Hey man i really appreciate your help. As i think more and more... i cant really afford the whole exhaust at the moment. Im just going to fix the flex pipe (someone i know is going t o help me weld it) and while im at it im just going to remove the cat because there are no emissions tests here and it frees up some HP. All i need to know is what size is our flex pipe???? Im just going to order one off of ebay as soon as i get the size and all. Until i get the flex pipe and put it on im just going to do a "ghetto" fix and put soda cans around it with some hose clamps. Its just temporary im not going to leave it like that. Thanks once again John i didnt figure you would help me out but THANK YOU.
