get you a class D amp and get a carputer. You will never look back at another HU in your life again.

I'd stay away from alpines new models. The quality has gone downhill a lot with the new line.

I got the CDA-9856, and im very happy with it.. The only real problem is it takes a while to get used to the button configuration and its hard to see the text display if the sun is shining on it.

Nice. I had a single 12 of those in my G a while back. Sounded good. As far as HU goes, I think Alpine is still good. If you have any problems, their repair and return is awesome. My DVD had some issues and they fixed it and returned it super fast. At least they stand behind their products. Eclipse is always good as well.

A "Class D" amp fits a wide range of models honestly. There are still cheap and good ones made. Like Hifonics is a cheaper brand compared to a Soundstream or Phoenix Gold you know? For those subs a Hifonics Brutus or lower end Class D would be fine. I wouldn't break the bank to power those, they're not competition subs like the W7's or anything like that. I powered my single JL with a lower end amp that I got for $150 I think. Worked fine, did over heat though if I pounded it for an hour straight.

Good snag on the subs though. Great deal.

Thanks guys. SinSere I have been looking into a Hifonics amp, but malicious I have never heard of PROFILE amps but I will check them out too. I am also looking into replacing the other speakers too, component speakers up front and some good 6x9's in the back running off another amp.

Got a JL 500/1 amp to go with the subs

Installed everything but I need a longer power wire so I can mount the amp in a better place. Also swaped the box but I don't like the way this one sits in my trunk and the other one was to small

That amp was made for those subs, I have been running the 2 10 w3's and a 500/1 JL Audio Amp, the power on the speakers are 250 RMS and the Amp is 500RMS continious between 10-14V and 1.5 to 4 OHMS it is a pretty sweet setup. Good luck, I have had the same system since 2000, first in my Hyundai and then in the Galant in 2002, never had a problem.
