From a post on www.club3g.com:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mish_Mish)</div><div class='quotemain'>I was contacted (through my www.deadeclipse.com (http://www.deadeclipse.com)) by an investigative consumer news producer for ABC7/KGO-TV in San Francisco. They are making report on the bad paint on Eclipses and need as many people with this complaint as possible, especially in BAY AREA!!!!

If you have paint issues with your 3G please contact:

Randall Yip
Producer

I seriously don't think that the TV reporter would car if it were a G or a 3G. Just as long as it was Mitsu, so all you owners of black G's speak up.

I really doubt that Mitsu is going to do anything about it...ESPECIALLY if the paint issue didn't occur prior to the vehicle warranty expired.

It would be cool IF Mitsu did something about the black cars but I doubt it. If they do though...I got a 7g with cancerous oxidizing black paint.

What do you guys mean by oxidizing? My paint is all wearing off down by the wheels and looks horrible. Also the paint just isn't as black as when I got it...I Ifugred it just needed some wax. This is on 04 LS V^, for what its worth.

I noticed a few months ago it started on my rear driver side fender by the trunk and right above the rear driver side door on the frame but mine is red or rust or whateva they call it. Is there some sort of lawsuit or action being taken and is it only cars sold in Cali because I got mine in New York or does that even matter since most are built in Illinois?

I started to write to this guy, then read the story here Click Click (http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=7on_your_side&id=4804588)

As usual, Mitsubishi's basic response is "Not under warranty, tough shit". Those of you that wrote to Mr. Yip, keep this post open with any response you receive. But I seriously doubt that any of us out of warranty are going to get any satisfaction.
