Hey guys,

I want to sell my current system for something that will weigh less but be as loud.

My current system is:
2 12 inch subs
Powerbass XS12D1v.2 (800 rms each)
1 ED NINe.1 amp

I was wondering:
*Should I go for 2 10's or one 15?
*I will be keeping that amp so what will be the best sub or subs to match that amp
*Also looking for something that wont take up much trunk room so maybe around 3.5 to 4 cubic feet
*Budget for the sub(s) around $450
*SQ or SPL, I dont really care, the pbx subs sounded good enough

The only thing so far that has been recommended to be would be two 10 inch IDMAX subs.....

THANKS

the nine.1 amp does 1200 rms at 12v
My car is going to be at 14v soon, so the amp will be around 1350-1400 rms :D

ok then if you want 2 10's you might have to spend a little more and go with the alpine type x

My amp only will do around 1400 rms so I will be underpowering them huh well until I have more money to get another amp. How is the box specs on those subs, you know?
edit:money for the subs is not a problem

that would work i believe it is capable of that if not more power..

if your trying to reduce weight tho i would go with a 10 if you dont care about sq really go with the solo x 10 in sub it is lighter and it pounds im not sure what wattage the 10 is capable of but i know it is way more then 1400 watts.
if your budget is 450 you should be able to pick that and a box up your cheapest bet is probroblly ebay

Should have went with the SPv.2 before they where discontinued... I would watch out for the new Av.2....

FYI With those Type R's, you need a 1 ohm stable amp. Plus you need a pretty deep box.

Infiniti 10 or 12" are shallow, a little more lightweight than the Alpines, but hit really hard and clean.

Just so you know 2 10s aren't going to weigh much less if at all than 2 12s.

If I were you I'd buy a nice set of Polk Audio or Orion DVC subs that will be both louder and utilize a smaller box. Btw, what you should really be looking for in a subwoofer is the same as every speaker, that is dB sensitivity (aka SPL). The higher the better, not to mention the louder the speaker will be.
