View Full Version : VIP style...Galant?

Ive been looking at my car and damn, I dont like it. I just went to a local show (exterme autofest) and saw a Infiniti VIP style. I loved it. I was a big four door with fat 5 spoke work wheels that were staggered. It was on bags and slammed with a -5 or so camber! It had a boxy body and the rear windows had curtains! Damn that was sexxy. When I left the show I looked at the car and wondered it that would work? To me the Galant is Slow, family car, hell, grandmas car. But looking at it, made me think....Can I make it into VIP style? I was already thinking of putting bags on the car since I dont plan to do motor work, maybe a 5 speed, but thats it. I was shooting for better control to rip on turns, but damn, not a real canyon car to me...with bags I can slam it when I want to and raise it to avoid speedbumpes/dips. Ive read that some systems run on tokiko shocks and air springs and you can digitally preset a high and low level (extra). Sounds good and forces me to obey the speed limit (sorta) and not drive so stupid in my slow galant.

So has anyone ever thought of going VIP with their car? I might sell the wheels I have now and go for a look like this..

And have a exterior style like this...

I like this guys style, has the same front end (minus the fogs..i have projectors). But he has the bags and the right wheel style...

i like the galant pictured a lot it was one tha inspired me a bit and thats why i decided on that bumper also sleek it got a refined look but also a bit more agressive, for you since your whole car is molded im sure it would be a lot of work tho, good luck

Sillyasianz

being molded to me means I can sand it down back to FG and add more to change the bumper completely, loose the curves and make it boxy. Its harder to fix the curves if there is body damage, but boxy is easier....hmmm...

Dude that is one badass 8g. I am trying to go this way too. Not sure what frontend I should use I am thinkin of usin the stock 00-01 bumper with a round lip or my stock bumper with a JDM lip. I might be switchin my wheels for some HP EVO wheels.
I am going for this look probably this summer. I am tired of the black wheel combo now although it does look good but I rather get somethin different now. Since the 8g is a sedan I say why not sport it as luxury or portray it as a VIP.

eh. I dunno silly. your car looks pretty badass as is. I think of the Galant as a perfect sleeper so the V.I.P. thing is kinda way off. but its your car... all i can say is if you go V.I.P. in maybe a half a year to a year. I got dibs on the works. lol

Dre, I have to see your car in person before I give my opinion. I guess I'll see it at the meet. Don't forget that "true" VIP also includes the interior. Are you prepared to work on that also? You've already spent a lot of money on your new bumper, wheels, SS-P's, body and paintwork etc. If you go with bags, you'll have to get rid of that melon shooter muffler and your CSK kit will scrape like a muthafuck!

most of the interiors in VIP cars and VIPstyle car's consist of wood grain, tables, curtains, etc...

your right though for VIPstyle the muffler's gotta go, unless your going to go for the Boso style of VIP

My interior has not been touched since my Mickey Mouse self mod days. It needs major overhauling. I dont have SS-Ps. I HAD the SS, but sold them to neil a WHILE back. I was going with SS-P but opted to buy the front end...cost $800 cause the lip alone was $400 shipped! But yea, I need to get a new exhaust anyway. Since I had my exhaust tested and my state approve sticker lists APEXi exhaust, imma get the same one, but not angle it so much, just a minor angle. A VIP look is still an idea, i may incorporate the style into my car, but not 100% cause Id be starting from scratch. But my CSK WONT scratch. Its not that low off the car and when I say bags dont think imma run super slammed all day, maybe a finger gap all around, remember I have a kit, and unlike the oem body kit guys with bags, I cant slam so much, my kit sits lower then them. The VRG front end lip is at the same level as my side skirts, from top to bottom at the fender mounting points, its about 17" in height. So my car may look slammed, but the CSK is safe, my rear and front parts would rip off before the CSK....

the major thing with VIP car and VIPstyle is in the wheel fitment and stance. Meaning that to be slammed and maybe some good negetive camber. now one major aspect of being slammed is not to tuck the tire so much as to were it covers the rim the basic principle is to have the car low with just the tire part tucked so you can see the full face of the rim.

kinda like this

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/mrshane01/jp.jpg

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/mrshane01/celcior.jpg

and in some cases camber is like this

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/mrshane01/jdm.jpg

and yes they do drive like that all the time :-D , most VIP cars have air from the factory so they by a computer overide so to speek to make the pc thinks theres to much air in the bags so it stays low

hope this helps some what :)

kool. thanks. i havent gone on that forum yet, but i saved it. but yea, im thinking of sanding rough my sideskirts and filling in w/ FG the curves and grooves and making it boxy. then im looking at the rear and...well..not sure yet. maybe filling in the triangle chunk thats down there so its wont have the fins...ah im rambling, and not good at PS. Ill have a friend do it and post....dotn steal it anyone or ill kill you...lol

do it but its gonna cost a lot. custom offset 20's, airrunner suspension, rear spacers and camber plates. if you want the real VIP look radiusing the fenders. but it would look sick as hell. i'm VIPing an odyssey right now and its costing me over 13k with hookups.

yup im on that fourm under jdmgalant. im going for a vip style since my car is not a true vip car. I will incorportate the things i learn and maybe eventually build up to a car costing a shit load, but im taking steps and learning. wheels are not an issue. RBmotoring.com has some nice deals, got my current wheels from them, and they can always find wheels in japan for me...

galantv600
10-30-2006, 07:41 PM
my car is in and out of our shop right now seeing about fitting dif style wheels weve tried all kind of offsets and width on 19s... if all good ill have something nicely staggered with some modding to the inner fenders... i have some VIP styled stuff but remember our cars wont ever be VIP.. they will be VIP styled... so dont get shot down or depressed if a true vip car driver tells u ur not true VIP... lemme know how it goes for you tho man!! its a long run to make it look perfect...

So you gunna get a slick table/drink holder for the front passenger seat? I've actually been wondering how one of those would look in an 8G. 8)

Sillyasianz
06-10-2007, 06:19 AM
maybe. i can get almost anything VIP....the issue is it right? To me some VIP things are to be left on VIP cars.

not really, it has the "kit" of a vip style.. still needs the fogs in the bumper, incredibly staggered rims and could still be lower.. thats just cosmetically... and if you wanna be very exagerated, big ass exhaust sytem :P

I picked up a 92 Jaguar about 2 months ago and am really thinking of doing the VIP style to it. I was planning on selling the Galant anyways as I have just lost interest. the Jaguar I picked up cheap and have replaced all kinds of parts and cleaned it up a ton. Its got that nice big body with huge wheel wells and lots of chrome. I think it would be perfect bagged with some nice deep dish rims. I'll have to post some pics when I get a chance. I just had the hood and roof re-painted and I waxed the whole car. Looks like glass.

Yea. Odessey lights are the same. but we found out it was pretty much the same price for the real Inspection Fogs. Bout $100 more, but better to bragg its all Inspection.
