I am trying to fix up my wife's car she has a 2000 ES 4 Cyl Galant. how much do CAI's cost for import cars? How much of a gain in HP are we looking at? I heard imports gain more HP from a CAI than domestics do is that true?

If you're looking for the cheapest, then get the CP cold air intake. It's currently $75 on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=1872869759 ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872869759') - I have a CP CAI for the V6 and it's all good. HP gain? Not much ~ 5 or 6 HP, maybe less. I'll put it this way, it's noticeable and it sounds good. That's all that should matter. The CP is also CARB certified for passing smog checks and cop inspections.

As for your other question, the Galant is technically a domestic car as it was built here in America. But if you're saying does a CAI produce more HP for a Galant or Eclipse over a Dodge Stratus, I would say no. Depending on the model, they use the same engine. As for other domestic cars, in my opinion, who cares.
