Saw this up close an personal at the Auto Show. The center of the car rotates to let the person sitting in the car get out. When it turns, it reveals some amps cleverly hidden. This is insane! Oh and check out the speakers under the rear bumper!

Here are the amps

Doesn't matter how much money the pour into show projects, his point was that there is most likely no PC running in that setup, which is probably 100% true, especially since it is an Alpine show car and Alpine doesn't dabble in the computer industry. Unless your counting headunits, dvd players, or brains/processors as computers, it probably doesn't have a true PC in it.

Basically.

Its a HU, thats it
PC is everything a HU is but more and way cheaper, with possibilites for upgrades. Versus where when you wanna upgrade a HU, you would have to shell out another 1200 or so only to get half of what a car pc system would have.

I've seem cars and trucks with 5 TV's, Flip up HU tv's sound and all the works.
Still cant compare to a car pc.

Can an ALPINE HU run emanage and run tests on your cars peformance as well as check/reset your trouble codes and what not.

No.
you can
of course it has to be modified.

I saw years ago...before the new technology of these HU came out, a featured car with an Alpine HU (like my old one) that had a display for boost and A/F. I am sur eyou could find someway to do it

I agree with you, a CarPC takes the cake over a simple headunit, I don't understand why anyone would not go with a CarPC because of the unlimited options that come with it...
