I was wondering if the E39 projectors (about 2001 5 series) would work for the headlight conversion? the reason why i picked these projectors because i can get the probably free since i work for BMW

yes, they will work. You can pretty much make any projector work if you put enough time into it.

Bytheway..... lemme know if you want to hook me up with some E39's. :D

what i actually meant was the size, they are about 5in diameter would that be to big?

lol ill c what i can do bro... 1st im trying to get some for me and its been kinda rare for the e39 to come in for new headlights, and they cost more than what i paid for my 8G lol

since you have the projectors on you, you can put them next to the car. if they can actually fit inside the headlight then you should be fine.

are you sure they are 5 inches? Im almost certain that the E39s have 3 inch lenses. I dont even think they make a 5 inch projector.

well i dont have them yet, i have a friend here that says he has some, so ill proabably buy them from him, i measured them and it looked like 4 or 5 in, ill check them again

are you sure your that was the mueasure ment for the diameter and not the overal length? 5 in sounds right for the length.

the projectors are 5' and the full diameter of the projectors are about 5" wide...
