Color Change coming this summer

So guys, the paint job on my car isn't the greatest...i guess you could say i got somewhat screwed on the job :cry: Anyways, im planning to redo everything this coming summer. I am thinking about spraying the car all black this time around. You guys remember my car:

What do you guys think? Im open to ideas. If i don't do the black, i was also thinking about a gunmetal. Maybe even the new pearl white on the IS300's :lol:

no, it was done like a year and a half ago...truth is, i have never been real happy with it. After alot of thought, i finally decided that i am going to pay the price to get it done right this time around.

I love my black paint. its reflective and glossy as hell. like a mirror. literally.

but man give me 20 minutes after a quality hand wash.... and you can see the dust on it.

but for that first 20 minutes awww man its glorious.

since we are on the topic of paint, would anyone recommend a MAACO job? like im not talking about one of the middle class jobs, im looking at the best of the best from them. would anyone recommend that or should i be looking for someone who will spend maybe more time on it and it cost a little more?

If i were you, i would just spend the extra money for a good job. I wish i did this from the start...too bad i had to learn the hard way. I am planning on going to a shop that does alot of show cars here in hawaii. Im probably looking at 2-3 grand, but at least ill be happy.

yeah i was thinkin the same thing! that i should put out the money and be happy that i got a good job done. i am gonna put out $2500 for it and the guy said its supposed to look like glass, so after its done ill post some pics up!

If you are thinking about the white pearl from the 06 and newer lexus models, just take a look at pics of Cali's car, because its the same color.

Where are you guys getting full paint jobs for 2-3 grand? Shops I've asked said it would me more like 4 grand... that's to paint the engine bay, trunk, door sills, etc.

I think you should go for Satin Meisai Greay Pearl.... Look it up... It's a hot Mitsu color.. Currently on the Eclipse, Galant, and Endeavor.

well, the cost is going to depend ultimately on what shop i decide to go with....but yeah DANJ, im expecting maybe even up to 4 grand like you said. I ain't going to do it till the summer for sure....gives me some time to save up the money at least.

personally i wouldnt pick black if i wanted a nice custom job done due to the fact that there are so many G'z on the road that is black, i probably would go with a STI blue or candy color with flakes (maybe thet paint job is played out but i bet it would grab attention, expecially on a G)

Oh yeah, i was wondering....when they paint my car, are they going to have to take off my kit to paint it? I mean, it was kinda of a bitch putting on the front and rear...and my sides are riveted on. For you guys with kits that repainted, what did your shop do?

So im probably going to paint it the EVO gunmetal and. Im going to also spray the roof black to go with my carbon hood and trunk. Ill keep you guys posted.
