hey guys... my friend is tryin to put on his new megan exhaust, but we cant get the cat bolts/nuts off... what do you guys suggest?... i would cut right through it, but thats cuz i'm a honda guy... hahaha... but also like a honda guy, i do my research b/4 i start a project so i know what i am getting into... i looked at the mitsu manual in the exhsut section & the cat seems to be held on w/ 2 bolts that are round on the head...

do you guys think that it is possible to cut the bolts right after the nut & then bang it out w/ a hammer? also what size bolts do you think we would need?

If I remember correctly, I think the bolts are a permanent part of the cat. I know I had a bitch of a time getting the nuts off when I put my cat-back on. Then, when I installed my headers, I couldn't get them off and ended up cutting them off. I can't remember for sure though if the bolts were permanent or not. Maybe mine just seemed that way because they were so rusted. Does the manual show the bolts as being seperate?

the front cat is seperate. the rear cat is incorporated with the front pipe.

use sharp bits, start small and work your way up, you can skip like everyother bit but i wouldnt jump up to much more than that because it takes forever to get through
