View Full Version : valve cover painted red, it was a pain!!

i changed also my valve cover gasket and o-rings for the spark plugs, it was a pain getting the old gasket out, i dont think it was ever changed. i used a flat head screwdriver. Took me about 35 min to get the sucker out. The rest was easy.

I have a chrome valve cover but its for 7g!

you know it could of been easier if you had warmed up your engine for a good 10 minutes so the oil can ease the suction. I was expect total bond failure for Pedro's VC but it came off really quick because he's been driving it for a while.

Cliff note: warm engine up before removing VC.

what kind of intake manifold is that? It doesn't look stock. Am i wrong?

sweet!!!! i shoulda thought about colors before painting mine.. woulda been nicer if you custom made a mistu logo on the cover..

yeah those are actually OBX racing hahah so i am actually planning to keep them for a while, got them for free but they were 50.00 my friend didnt want them, he gave them to me...may be soon

oh yeah definatly, i washed the thing with warm soapy water, dried it in the sun, let the valve cover warm up a little too, then took my time...it shoudl be good for a while!. if not hell i repaint it hahaha.

it shouldn't chip, not like there are rocks hitting it like your breaks or your bumper.
