Hey wasup guys? Well i attempted to put on my JDM bumper this afternoon to no avail. I trimmed the sides off the crash bar (the piece welded to the longer metal bar) and i still cant get the damn bumper to sit flush. I have no idea what im doing wrong, thats why im looking to you guys. Are there any TGC members in the NY area who have experience putting on JDM bumpers? Hell id be willing to make a trip down to NJ to get help. Again, i have no idea what the hell im doing, and i really dont wanna fuck up my car  . So any members with experience....get at me! Maybe we can turn it into a Mini-Meet? If necessary, im willing to pay $100 for the installation.

If its like the 7g, you shouldnt have had to cut anything. I am assuming its like the 7g. Their should be two metal brackets stickout out of the backside of the bumper. These two brackets go into two slots on the car. Look underneath the two shafts on the car, and their should be some bolts, unscrew those bolts and a piece of metal will come out, than just slide in your new JDM bumper and bolt it in.

you may have to trim more, im assuming you took off the foam in orger to cut it, the metal brackts(bumper supports go inder the bumper, then im may take a little force to get it on, with mine the last 2 bolt holes lined up

Wait a minute....so i have to remove the metal crash bar also? I already scrapped the styrofoam crash bar. Wouldnt that cause major front end damage if i get into a fender bender, and have no crash bar present? I thought i would be able to just trim the sides of the metal crash bar. Please correct me if im wrong.

I believe you have to cut a lil more then just the corners to get the bumper flush

OOh now i see. I just trimmed the metal corners of the crash bar (the two welded pieces). So it looks like ill have to remove them completely huh? What did you use to do that?

Where abouts in NJ? I tried fitting my USDM heads with the JDM bumper yesterday, and they didnt line up at all. I thought i could just use the USDM heads until i order my JDM heads. But ima wait until my JDM heads come before i have this bumper put on. But keep me posted whenever you are free.

To get the jdm heads you have to cut the support a lil bit on the sides of the radiator support. I had the body shop move the actual ac condesor back about an inch so its nice and flush.
