Look around the for sale section...I believe someone is parting out a obd2 model 7g.

The diagram should be the same, I would keep my eye out though because some of the wire colors might not match up, but they should all run through the same pins. I ran into this problem when trying to install my maft and still haven't had a chance to pick up the diagram from the dealer(to busy at work). If you still need it after i get the chance to pick it up i should be able to send you a copy, just let me know.

i honestly have no idea, it honestly doesn't have wire colors, just which pin is what

I have the diagrams for the 98 Galant. The wire colors between the 96 and 98 are different but the actual wire positions should be the same.

ooh ok thanks for the diagrams seth, but the thing is i need to know the color of the tach wire that goes to the distributor, cause still i can put the tach to work on the microtech.
The microtecht has one tach wire that needs to be hooked up the tach signal wire.I unplugged the stock ecu of my car, and i don't use the distributer anymore. No i don't know if i need to plug the stock ecu also to make the tach signal wire avialable.

I was thinking, can i put a wire direct from the tach to teh cam angle sensor?

seth98esT

From the CAM angle sensor, run that wire to the Microtech then from the micro tech run the wire to the ECU and then just splice a wire off it and run it to the back of the gauge cluster.

microgalant
03-14-2007, 10:24 PM
witch ecu seth?I took the ecu out of the car

If your not running an ECU just go straight from the Cam angle, splice one wire to the Microtech then one to the back of the gauge cluster. Have you tried using a tach inverter?

microgalant
03-14-2007, 10:29 PM
nope not yet, maybe i need to use that?

seth98esT

Idk, I have never gotten my tach to work with a 6gVR4 CAS. I havent tried an inverter yet though.

microgalant

Cause from the microtech you get the wires, to ignition, coils, camangle sensor, oxigen sensor, cooling sensors, and a wire that must be conected to a tach.
Now on wich wire of the camangle sensor i've to put the wire, from the tachometer to the camangle sensor?

Actually Im retarded. Tach signal comes from the POWER TRANSISTOR. Look at my diagram:
http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/8947/wiring8zh.jpg
Pin 4, run it to your Microtech then to the Tach. Theres two different types of power transistors though, a 7 pin and 8 pin. Still might want to try an inverter though.

Think i'm in deep problem cause i'm not running a power transistor, i'm using aftermarket coils

seth98esT
03-14-2007, 11:22 PM
hmmm Im really not sure man. Power transistor is in the stock setup. Microtech comes with the coil packs right? In which the microtech controls the coil packs right?

On a stock Galant with stock Galant ECU(96-98) Pin 31 is the tach signal wire on the ECU and its a white wire. It splits off, one end goes to the tach at the gauge cluster, the other goes to the 2-wire distributor connector which is the power transistor portion of the distributor. The wire on the gauge cluster should be a black/yellow wire.

On a stock 2g the tach wire is Pin 58 and its still a white wire. It just splits off, one wire goes to the gauge cluster tach and the other goes to pin 4 on the stock 7/8 pin power transistor.

yes I saw the two wires of the distributor, one is white and the other is black, they're on a separate plug, i tried to put the microtech signal wire on it but doesn't work, i don't know if i have to hook up the stock ecu back.
Take a look on www.microtechefi.com

mine microtech is an lt8, i don't know much about wiring

That diagram didnt help much. Are you using the MXS coil packs? If so it shows the tach being connected to the two.

If all the CAS wires go to the Microtech, just connect the tach wire from the Microtech directly to the tach. If that doesnt work try using a tach inverter. Stock 90 turbo 1g E/T/L had a tach inverter.

microgalant
03-15-2007, 04:16 PM
I did that already, i will check the tach inverter, you know were i can get one?in the states?

Off a stock 90 Eclipse/Talon/Laser. Autometer makes one too.

I wired up my tach directly to the Pin4 on the power transistor with no luck. If I hook up my pocket logger I have a tach there but the tach in the gauge cluster never works. Im going to try to wire up the tach inverter I have tomorrow.
