I know there are plenty of posts on here about "it can be done." But i need help on finding an actual how-to. If there is a post on here about how to actually do it, nothing relevant came up in the searches. Please don't jump down my throat about searching because like most on here, i have done over an hour of searching on here and a few hours on the whole WWW.

Do you need the parts list? I've got the whole parts list for a Kia Optima/Hyundai Sonata DOHC swap as well as the Evo DOHC swap. Let me know. I do not know how to do the swap because you have to mess with the timing variables. A shop I know said that they'd do it for me for $400 bucks if I get every single part.

Go to club3g.com. They have plenty of info over there. I know there is parts list and a couple of people who have done it. I don't think anyone on here has done the head swap at least not yet. Just make sure you don't ask anyone step by step what do and make sure you do all your research.

Damn beat me to it. That's the exact parts list I have. Have fun adding 50hp to it!

Where do you get 50hp? Who says a stock DOHC head adds 50hp? I dont

LOL

Yeah, that can be done, but its the absolute worst way/last resort, because then your worrying about things like valve clearance, which you lose as you lose height from the head/block surface.

so how much hp gain does the kia optima head provides?

as far as i understand it, the best swap for our car ( considering $ and gain )
is the 4g63 (maybe 4g63t) head from a eclipse

i dont know the specific gains on all 3 swaps though

i guess the evo head is better but by how many hp , does anyone know???

....search! : club3g, evom. Their search engines work. No one will give everything you need. You need to read Alot

think of it this way. by adding a kia optima head to our 2.4L engine will make it.... the same as a 2.4L kia engine! but, while you have the head off, why not do the pistons, rods, cams, gears, etc and now youre cookin
