Where is the 8G Manufactured?

I was looking at my VIN and I was surprised it didn't have the "J" designation that indicates it came from Japan. Where is exactly are the majority of these cars built?

I was kidding w/ my buddy about how with the shoddy build quality and the numerous creaks, squeaks and vibrations my car had it must have been made in the states. Just for the hell of it I looked at my VIN and I was shocked not to see the J! :shock:

most of the parts are built in Japan (engine, Tranny, ect), the car is completed (assembled) in the states.

They have a regional headquarters in Cali but not a full blown factory
