Hey all,

We're Norcal Performance. www.norcal-performance.com We have been checking out the forums lately and from what we can see you're lacking good options for serious power. Well we intend to change that. First of let me tell you a little about us.

I'm Tim the Sales and Marketing Director, I drive a 2001 Dodge Stratus Coupe 2.4L which is currently the only Turbocharged Stratus out there. We have also are in the final stages of an automatic to 5-speed swap on my car.

Cliff, the owner of Norcal Performance, drives a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.0L, which has just finished dropping a new engine into it, after a little run in with a blown engine. (125 shot of Nitrous on stock injectors, his ego got a little big trying to beat his old bosses F360 Spider) Big plans are in store for this car.

Now just to give you guys an idea of what we can offer. We are registered dealers/installers for RIPP Mods, AMSS, as well as our own products.

We also carry everything you need for your Galants. We have Springs, coilovers, intakes, exhaust, headers, gauges. You name it we can get it. And if we cant we'll tell you who can.

We are also in the process of fine tuning a turbo kit for the 2.4L Galant/Eclipse/Stratus. This kit will include the following:

T3/04 Turbonetics Turbo
Spearco Custom Front Mount Intercooler
Custom Manifold
440cc RC Engineering Fuel Injectors
Internal Wastegate
HKS Super Sequential BOV
Apexi S-AFC
All neccessary piping to fit*

We will also include baseline tuning calculations for the kit to allow you to get up and running safely, and to the dyno for more serious tuning. The kit will be preset to 6psi

This same kit has been running on my car since February with no problems whatsoever. This is due to the high quality of fabrication and the fact that we tuned, tuned and tuned some more. We feel that this is the most important key to a safe/reliable kit.

Base gains from this kit on 4 psi automatic transmission are 55whp. We dynoed at 165whp and 176.4 ft-lbs of torque. Now I realize this doesnt seem like a huge gain, but it is only a starting point. On the 5-speed, gains will be closer to 190whp and 215ft-lb of torque at 4 psi. So expect the gains at 6psi to be about 200 hp to the wheels.

The target price is $3600.

*We are currently looking for a test car to install this kit on. Due to the fact that we havent installed this kit on a Galant, we want to make sure that all the piping is correct, to allow for perfect fitment. We expect only minor modifications to the intercooler piping, if any at all.

So if any one in the greater California Bay Area would like to donate there car for a few days, you will get the kit at a greatly reduced price.

As you know RIPP is also in the process of producing a 4cyl SDS system. We are authorized dealers of RIPP's and can order and install both the I4 and the V6 SDS kits.

We also have the ability to have body kits and custom CF hoods made. These are of the highest quality, and look great. We are in the process of completing a long time project over on www.2gstratus.org The members there designed the body kit and we took the plans and developed the kit. If the members here would like to do the same, we will be more than happy to produce the body kit for you. This allows you the members to have a say in what you want the kit to look like.

Both Cliff and I will visit the boards as much as possible, so feel free to drop us a line at [email protected] or give us a call at 408-226-2023.

Thanks again, and we look forward to pushing the aftermarket envelope.

We did meet with one guy with a white Galant from San Jose. I cant remember his name. He had a 4cyl, and was in line to get the RIPP SDS when it came out. We're doing the install on his for him.

Dont know if this is the same guy or not?

Yes we can have anything made in Carbon Fiber. we're currently making a OEM CF hood for the Stratus, and we have several contacts to get just about anything made, that you guys want.

BGR Yeah this is Cliff (cdogcs). I used to post sometimes when I was with Dreamspeed.

Also just to let you guys know. I blew my motor with 125 shot. I was running a VCN-2000 kit. The first one for the 3.0L. I was the test car for it. Well I maxed out the injectors and detenated 2 pistons. I tore up the heads and the pistons are shattered. My heads are so badly damanged that even milling them wont fix them.

I look forward to helping you guys out. I love the Galants and would have probably bought one when I bought my Eclipse but they didn't have a 5-speed.

How much will the 5spd swap cost me?
Do u guys install it?
4g64T auto
i just check out your web site - the swap to 5sp only mentions eclipse/stratus - what is up with that? IS the Galant included?

Glad to hear that you guys are moving to Vegas....
Btw, Where u will be located?

DJ Galant- Yes we will offer the 5-speed swap. A final Price has yet to be determined, but to give you a general idea Parts alone cost me nearly $2,000. Then you factor in labor and its not a cheap endevor. But we will do it.

We're not sure of a location yet in Vegas, we're still looking.

Hey Tim. Welcome to you and Cliff, and thanks for showing your support to the Galant platform and the club.

Do you guys have a core exchange program for the 6G72 bored throttle body. What sizes do you offer, if so. That's a mod I'm very interested in. Since this is my daily drive, I can't afford a lot of downtime. Your turbo looks great. Drop me a line or PM at your convenience. Thanks in advance.

Is that the stock headers or aftermarket? They look coated. If so, what brand are they?

some of the Members sure could use some A pillar Pods.

1) Cat back exhaust system, 2.25 inch with quiet deep sound
2) bored out throttle body and possibly also intake manifold matched to fit with new bored out throttle body for 4g64.

both mods i am very interested in, and i think i speak for alot of members on this board. i am in dire need of a new mandrel bent exhaust system.

Norcal, even though I just post this request under the Customizing section, do you think it would be possible to for you to have to have "full" dress kit for our shared engines. I posted a pretty fair list of items in that thread, which basically consists of replacement caps or cap covers for reservoirs under the hood along with a new valve and fuse box cover. I'm sure a company like yours would have no problem having a area machine shop fabricate and powder coat these items at a low price.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(99DE)</div><div class='quotemain'>Is that the stock headers or aftermarket? They look coated. If so, what brand are they?</div>

The "header" is the turbo manifold. It is available only with the turbo kit.

BIMONEYDAY- I'm sure we can look into something along those lines. I will look into it and see what can be put together.

Mark1- We could possibly do a cat-back exhaust system, however we feel that 2.5" would reap bigger gains rather than 2.25"

And we have plans for a new intake manifold for the 6g72. This product is in the R&D phase. We do have plans at some point for an intake manifold for the 4g64.

Most likely it wouldn't take place until after our move, and we get settled.

Dude if they agree to do this one I will donate my headlights for them to work on. or anything they come out with for the US Spec headlights. I won't need mine if I ever get the JDMs installed.
