the best way to get that amber piece out is by using a mini crobar. you can find it at you local hardware store like home depot. I used the mini crobar and just used a little pressure and pulled on the amber lens until it broke into small pieces and then just cleaned it all out. hope this helps or just use the SEARCH becuase there are plenty of tutorials on clearing corners.

go to the tutorial section, you can either use 619's method or bake the headlight in the oven.

true, forgot about the oven method. but i strongly suggest the mini crobar method, its much easier and the control is in your hands not an ovens. but yea you can see pics of what i mean in the tutorial section.

dont try and do this while the headlight is on. take them out so that you can work on them with care. Use the pribar at the corners to that if you should scratch the lense it will be less obvious. Good luck

I used a hammer, chisel and dremel. I understand it's pretty easy if you take a heatgun to the sealant and just open the whole dang thing up.

i personally think the black headlights looke better with the amber corner. they look dumb without it. but the chromes look good cleared

I used sharp wire cutters. Break them good a little at a time.

I grabbed it w/ pliers and dremeled little pieces off. then I washed out the whole thing and dried it off.

Na, i went and bought some wire cutter pliers and all it does is cut into them! they don't break??? ima try and go get some heavy duty plier cutters, but i feel like a dumbass cuz i cant get it done!!! :?
...on anothr note they look good cleared, i think if you were to put a silver/platinum looking bulb into that corner it would look clean! (putting that kind of bulb is what i plan on doing)

i thought the 99-01 had the entire chrome housing cuz that's how my 00 came! and then, when they changed the front end in 02 they had black housing with chrome behind the amber lenz???
...ANYWAYS finally got the right side done, i figured it out. 2morrow comes the second...

i used a paint can opener to free the amber lens. just get the hook end over the lens and just pull.

then got some dykes and used those to break the lens into managable pieces.

i got the other1 today, took about 40 min.
...I found if you hit the points that hold down the lens if frees it a little quicker when you pull it out with a mini crowbar, or whatever you choose to use! Thanks 4 the help though guys. I'll post some pics later so you guys can see them!!!

any pics? i wanted to clear mine but if it's gonna look crappy, i dont wanna screw with it. Maybe it looks good anyway since the lense are lightly smoked?

as far as i remember, the lenses are not smoked at all on any OE USDM 8G headlight. this is a misnomer.

the best way to do it is to use the mini crow bar but u had to get a rag and jam it into the corner of the light so u let it snap back without any other marks
