First off I would recomand everyone whose trying this to get an extra pair of your headrests due to YOUR NOT A PROFESSIONAL.... but then again maybe you are!

items needed: Headrests.... a ruler....washable marker.... box cutter...
self drilling screws....and a power drill.

1st line up your monitor housing so it's perfect on all sides.... (USE THE RULER TO HELP AND MARK OFF WITH THE MARKER) you should make a box around the housing. THAT'S GOING TO BE USED AS YOUR OUTLINE

2nd: After your happy with your outline....cut an "x" in the box area and pull the 4 pieces back. DO NOT CUT THEM OFF.

3rd: Start hacking at the stuffing in the headrest until you get to the bar. THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME.

4th: put the housing in your headrest and run the wire down so its by one of the two poles.

5th: After your happy with how the housing is situated drill your screws in the housing.

6th: Now with the 4 pieces put those in the housing and then the monitor. This makes the plastic housing not show at all. And with that you have your headrest monitor.

Great tutorial!!! You can also just buy headrests with screens in them already.. Not bashing.. just another alternative...

thanx... as far as buying headrests tv's already installed: it depends on the brand.... most.. NOT ALL but 95% of them out there have crappy quailty and are no brand. For Example "Icon" doesn't make pre-mounted headrests. But the brand itself is amazing. I guess it depends on the person.

+1 on that. my friend bought some cheap ebay ones in black leather to match his car and even though the brand was shady, it had some panasonic monitors built into the headrest.

but yea, i guess it depends on what kinda material you have for the seats. leather headrests would look kinda weird with cloth seats.

just my two cents. I have 7 inch and it was hard to get them right but I cut a rectangle piece of THICK cardboard (actually i had a old spare tire cover from the trunk of an old g that i used). I slid that behind the metal bars in the headrests and screwed the plastic mounting for the headrests into the wood/cardboard until it was tight enought to make the headrest flush with the monitor. Not saying the other way was wrong but this is how I did mine. I can post pics if someone wants.
