key stuck at "START" position

Hi, I have a 96 Galant (S). Whenever I turn the key to start the engine, the key is stuck at "START" instead of moving back to "ON" position. So I always have to turn the key manually back to "ON." I have lubricated the key hole many times without any success. Could anybody help me with this? Thanks.

there is a small spring that controls the position, check to see if it is there, if not you can replace it, but it might be easier to key a new ignition

i would get a new ignition lock its pretty easy if u know what yur doin good luck
