Evo engine swap

Hi, I dont post much here but I do read all the post religiously. My question is this, would I have to custom fabricate engine and trans mounts to mount and evo8 motor in my 8g galant? Or do the factory mounts work just fine. I have the motor sitting at my shop, I already went through and checked everything out all looks to be fine. Let me know, and thanks for looking.

Yes You will need to make custom mounts .. search a little I know of 2 people who recently has done the swap...usernames: stewi and Cali

You use the stock galant mounts, 3 of the 4 mounts are on the tranny, so obviously those will stay the same. The mount on the passenger side that bolts to the motor, the metal arm with the studs in it, you use the arm from the EVO, but you remove the center stud and use the galant motor mount. If your asking why you need to remove the center stud, just hold the galant mount up against the studs and you will see why.

^ And I think you need to search before you respond, you dont need custom mounts for an Evo swap foo!

Thanks guys for your input. What i'm actually planning on doing now that I have read some more posts is to swap the heads, leave the 4g64 block and build it up from there. That search feature sure is nice. :lol:
