clear corners and the law.

So now that my corners are cleared........what does the law say about using white lights in said corners?

I found Illinois law allows white lights as turn signals but the turn signals on the 8G are also the side markers.......is it illegal to have white lights for sidemarkers?

I bought the silverstars but they are just to amber, and when I have my lights on I'm thinking....why even clear the corners if it's still gonna look amber at night!?

anyway......any info would help......don't need any tickets.

As long as it is not blue or red the law states that you can have white signals

Yeah last time that cops pulled me over, they :mrgreen: told me to have either white or amber in my corners instead of blue!

It doesn't matter that it doubles as a signal & parking light. The law states that you cannot have blue & red lights because you are not an emergency vehicle. White & amber are the legal colors. Not green & purple, etc.

So what bulbs are you guys running for turns? I got the silverstars but hated them when they're on.......so I got the APC's which are blue when not on.....but I hate them too!

APC. But the look blue when off but white when on. I just get a hint of blue, not enough to be pulled over.

but you can get this and its legal they are orange

If your nervous about bulb color, you can call the PD and ask but im sure you'll be safe.

couldn't find the damn things :( went to 5 parts stores in Minnie and 3 here in Aurora......

so do the amber chromes light up amber??

because if they do I'll just stick with the Silverstars....same thing.....they're chrome off and amber when on.

LED bulbs ftw. Keep it amber to prevent cops pulling you over. Even if it is legal to have white lights, cops will feign ignorance to have an excuse to pull you over.

very true, i have blue corners and i pass cops all the time, they dont bother.. but this one cop out of town pulled me over in a mall parking lot for em, but let me off with a warning
