Well after almost a month of frustration, deminished self esteem, cuts and bruises, cursing, etc etc...the GVR4 is finally running again. The water pump finally took a dump so I replaced it with a new one and the new one turned out to be a bad water pump. I fixed that issue and drove the car for 1 day and the rear brake caliper decides to take a crap on me. Then while trying to fix the issue with the brakes I checked the timing side to see if everything is holding up and come to find out I lost alot of tension and luckily the belt didn't skip. So yah...the GVR4 kicked my ass good, but I finally got the car fixed this past Thursday night and man...BOOST FEELS SOOO DAYAM GOOD. Anyways I did some upgrading while fixing the issues. So..here are some pics

The GVR4 was my DD, but since it was down I didn't have a car to get back and forth to work. The only running car was my g/f's 8g, but she has work and school. Luckily little sister came through and has let me have her Camry as my DD. She has a 07 VW GTi all souped up and she doesn't drive the Camry anymore...so I get to drive it. Its good on gas and it has A/C and a much more comfortable ride.

The current state of my significant others 8g after spending alot of time removing murdered lovebugs off the car. I am glad lovebug season is about to end.

Bought a new shifter knob for the GVR4 to replace the stock 1g leather knob. Not really sure if I like it yet...it raises the shift height a little bit.

Here are some engine pics. Installed several new power parts and added some "BLING" under the hood. 8)

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5513/p6020200my1.jpg

I named my GVR4 "Stitch". Why..because my g/f says the car looks soo odd, that its cute...like Stitch. So, for that reason....its seemed like a appropiate name for my odd looking "boxy" car. 8) So, my g/f bought me this little Stitch to hang on the rear view mirror.

And finally ...here is a little peek at my good ol' friend to most of you know as -G-rim. Don't want to show too much on what I am working on..but just a pic to show he is still in my caring hands.

you know bro,... you've been quiet about you're "good ol' friend" -G-rim and you haven't really talked to me a lot about what you've been planning(doing) to him but here's what i'm thinking.

1st your sig has a pic of grim on all jack stands... pretty high off the ground and all four tires off... hmmm can only think of two reasons you would need the rear tires off while working on the car.
A. Prothane suspension bushings
B. AWD Rear end swap :smt029

2nd. Your newest pic of "good ol' friend" has some head stud bolts sitting on the trunk, and an engine block turned on its end so most people won't catch it... but you put the pic up for a reason. You knew some of us would. :smt110

A. one's first thought would be "maybe he's doing a head swap on his 64 block."
B. but then others might think, "Why would he need to take the block out to do the head swap?... unless he's beefing up the internals; pistons, rods, seals and other what not's" :smt017

"Pinky! Are you pondering what i'm pondering?"
"Um... he's going to put a snow cone machine in his engine bay... Then pretty little snow flakes of red, white, and blue will shoot out of his vents and you can catch them with your tongue! Oh, Brian, how exciting it will be!!!?"

:Brain conks Pinky over the head with a craftsman 17mm wrench. hoping this will bring Pinky back to reality:

"No you idiot! He's planning to build an AWD beast, which will give him two AWD Galants. Pinky, do you know realize what would happen if he succeeds with this diabolical plan?"

:Pinky, who is now rubbing the two inch knot on his head, and hoping to not get another bashing, simply replies:

"Um.. no Brain? What does it mean?"
"Pinky, somtimes i think you're IQ diminishes faster than bomb pop on a hot summers day. No one will be suspecting that a Galant will have so much power and control. He will be able to sneak around the globe and defeat unsuspecting racers and ricers. Don't you see Pinky this is the ultimate plan to make him ruler of the world. We can't let him beat us!! We've got to get busy bulding our own Galant of power!!!"

I pretty much got the GVR4 to where I want it to be with the exceptions on upgrading to a bigger rear sway bar, a real good tune and a paint job. I may go "big" on a new motor in the future..but for now the stock "RS" jdm motor makes satisfying power.

My progress on -G-rim is slowly coming along, but won't probably be rolling till later in the year..because I am doing alot of upgrades to the house. Its a bit smarter to spend money on my investment for now. My goals for this car are big....unfortunately its dictated by money. :?

Thanks for all the compliments...its good to see appreciation for the old fella. 8) I bought a few parts off my friends GVR4 that I posted the dyno day a couple of months ago when he made 600awhp on his GVR4. He decided to move on and spend more time with his kids and parted ways with the car.

I have actually spent some time tearing down -G-rim lately..but that is short lived since I bought a ton of supplies and other stuff since I am repainting all the rooms and ceilings in the house. Going to also tile the bathrooms too..so Galant funds are going to be a little skimp for awhile. :?

Have you ever thought of putting a bodykit on the 6g, I saw one on ebay and have seen real pic of it on a blue galant which looks great. BTW great job with the galant!

Why his 6g looks awsome with the JDM RS front bumper and JDM rear bumper and AMG style 3 piece spoiler. The only kit that would be nice and respectable on his car would be the smooth AMG style kit.

I want to keep the car "authentic" as possible to its original design of the JDM versions. I love the JDM look of these cars and plus the bodykits of these cars aren't that appealing to me. I try to keep things simple and clean while trying to make my cars visually appealing at the same time.

I personally prefer the jdm bumpers you currently have. Do you have any vids of your 6g? Oh and btw i too believe that your probly doing a head swap along with the awd conversion. I cant wait to see the finished product. I would love to see the 7g when its done with all its new goodies.
