www.jgronline.com is the galant vr4 site. although this is a neat car to have, it is 10+ years old, and is high maintenance. it basically has the engine and drivetrain from the eclipse/talon/laser awd cars, plus rear wheel steering. slightly taller first gear, lousy abs, and 4 bolt hubs. it also has the later t/e/l big brakes, and slightly different instrumentation. only 2000 were brought into the us in 91, and 1000 in 92. a number of weak areas, but the drivetrain can easlily support about 340 hp. stock is 195 hp and i think 205 ft/lbs of torque. right off the bat, you will have a cracked exh manifold, and cracked turbine housing, crunchy gears, and the biggest problem is the ecu. the capacitors have a short life, and will leak out, and destroy the circuit board. a new one is 1100, but if you catch it early, you can get the caps changed for free. the fastest galants are turning in low 11 sec 1/4 mi times.
