since yur having yur timin belt done i would get all yur other belts done at the same time since there right there and u wont have to worry bout replacing yur p/s,alt,etc... theres like 5 belts total that we have including the timin belt theres 2 i think

I was quoted 400-500 for labor and belts included. I did the work myself and saved at least 300 bucks.

If you do it yourself, make sure that the balancer shaft doesn't move, and it's always nice to line-up your marks with the old timing belt on the car, makes it much easier.

hmm, so if i could get a timing gun and do it my self it would save me a couple hundred bucks?

think about this...

if you are 100 % sure u can do it then do it
if you are less than 100% sure, get som1 else to do it.
its ok for sum1 else to fuck up your car cuz its their fault and chances are, they'll pay for it but if you wreck ur motor, guess who u are gonna blame? urself. guess who is gonna pay to fix ur car. u...its gonna be all ur fault, just keep that in mind

Mitsu timing belts are cake compared to almost every other car manufacturer out there. You can definitely do it yourself. Just have the instructions in front of you so you know how to line everything up, and once you do that, spin the motor over once manually. If the marks still line up, you're good to go. Oh, and check your water pump while you're in there. If it needs replacing, do it now and save yourself from having to do this again not too far down the road.

Mine costed about $475 (VA), I had to get a new tensioner, if the place trys to tell you that your tensioner is bad and that it is a dealership only item, thats b/s. You can find them all over the web for roughly $50 or less. I paid $180 for mine. Don't get ripped off like I did.
