So... I know I need some rims, the ones that I was thinking about getting, Mega 907s, are on backorder for two or more months, so I'm looking at other options. I'm going for black 20s, 20x8.5 (yes, 20s nothing less lol) Any input of what you think would look good on a black 8g would be greatly appreciated (the suspension setup will be a tein drop and kyb agxs). Also feel free to add a rim you think would look good (20s only! in black! not feeling fullychrome right now, just a chrome/polished lip)

i would go with Giovanna Cuomo or the Tork Revo dont like the others at all, although i am not a fan of 20's on a 8g, imho only some have pulled it very well off but not too many, especially if the body is stock

i think it depends on what look you want. Since your going for 20's id reccomend tork or giovanna.
the other rims will make your g look ugly. For a daily, 20 is a bit much, unless your roads are impeccable. In jersey, this would be suicide.

I like the tork revo's they would look sweet on a black 8g like yours

Out of the ones listed you best bet is going to be with Axis. The Axis Orden in particular would be my pick. But I would personally choose the following wheel.

I would do these...

And heres what it looks like in a 20".

20" will be nice but make sure your ride is dropped well. Check this thread out. Those Gs are on their 20s

It doesn't NEED to be dropped. It may look better, but its not needed.

the mega 907 is a popular style. theres a dozen companies who make knockoffs of them. there was a member who had similar wheels to that in 20s on the forum. i forgot his name tho. i think it was str8 something

The Mega/Cabo 907s is a VERY popular style I noticed, probably why it's back ordered. I do like those Ziniks, kinda reminds me of the KMC Sr-5 rims. I am going to lower my car because I can't stand the stock gap. The Giovanna Coumo have a "luxury" look to them, I need to find some more pics of cars with them. I know the Torks are more performance styled

I would go with the Ziniks or Axis wheels. Giovanna at least in my experience is very difficult to deal with concerning warranty issues. If you like them go for them they are nice wheels, but I would stay away.

I know many people at Zinik and they are a very stand up company and I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from them.

I have to go by my friend's rim shop and see what all he stocks or what he can order for a good price. 6G72, I've checked out wheelmax.com, and for black rims they don't have a selection to my liking, or size hehe. Now don't get me wrong, they are a good site. Your new shoes look really good by the way!!! At my friend's shop he can get me a great deal, and I probably wouldn't have to pay up front (which would help so I can get all my suspension work done first).

Also, I was trying to find some information about the offsets of these rims. Only one I found so far was for the Giovanna Cuomos, which have an offset of +35. For 20x8.5 rims, wrapped with 225/35/20 tires... and a +35 offset... will those rub a lot? or just stick out a lot? The way the Cuomos are made, it looks like it has a very deep lip.

Here you go. The member name is STR8304..
Since people have PM me to death on this issue, I decided to make a post in this section for the subject.

If you have a 1999-2003 Galant, you can fit 20z on it. You can also lower it with little to no issues.

I have always used a 20x8.5" rim with a high offset. You can use a 20x7.5" rim, but I have seen some people have issues with it rubbing the rear strut tower and sometimes throwing the rear camber off a bit.

The tires to get are 225/35/20 for the best comfort or you can get the 225/30/20, but this tire is a little slimmer than the 35 series tire.

I did not have to roll my fenders or cut anything to make the rims/tires fit confortably on my car. If you look at my cardomain page, you can see what I am talking about. There are pics there at factory height as well as after I lowered it.

When I lowered it, I used the Tein Springs and went with the KYB AGX Adjustable Struts. There are other types of springs and struts that may or may not work, but this setup is what I used and it works great for me.

I do not have any rubbing issues what so ever. I had 3 full sized people in the back and one other person in the front and the only time it rubbed was when I turned a corner to fast and even then the rubbing was very very minimal, this was after it was lowered though. Now at stock height, it rubbed a little bit more. If I had to much weight in the back or trunk and it was not evenly balanced, it rubbed a little more, but again, it was minimal.

I've pm'd pvu_rida and str8304 in the past about their rims. They both have different offsets though. One is in the 40's the other is in the 30's I think. I'm changing direction with the rims choice now with the 907s. After actually looking at people's rims, I've seen so many around where I stay, past week I've noticed 5 cars with them. So... yeah, I think I'm going to go a different route after giving it some thought. Went by a few rim stores today, one shop quoted me $3,310 for the Giovanna rims! Fuck that! lol. Just got off the phone with Wheelsnext.com and for the black rims, 225/35/20 tires, and the road hazard insurance I'm looking at $2174. A little expensive, but those Giovannas are growing on me (sorry Dave, lol). Still looking for offsets on the others though. But the Mega/Cabo 907s are most likely out of the question.

My main concern is the +35 offset, since most Galants with 20x8.5 rims that I have seen have an offset in the 40s. I think I saw a member with +38 with 2mm spacers, I need to find that post again and see what his suspension set up was and if he had any issues. I think it was pLUGSNEt. But I'm going to do a little more searching on here about issues with that kind of offset, especially since I want to add KYB AGXs and Tein Springs (1.7"F/1.3"R). Anyone know anything about +35 off hand?

I love 20's on the G. Just when you get them, be extremly careful with them. And i mean careful. When I first got my rims, I was so careful, my girlfriend was so mad at me, that she wanted me to ride in her car :) I was like GREAT!! Less gas for me, and less wear and tear!

Well in a 20x8.5" wheel you'll almost have to run a +35mm offset. Most 20x8.5" wheels are going to be a +35mm offset. There is not very many that are one piece cast wheels (95% of wheels on the market) that are made in a higher offset.

Have you tried Dropstars or Twenty Inches Strong?

Divinity

I've looked at Dropstars and TiS... if I had the kind of cars they showcase them with on their websites, hell yeah I would get them! But they are really flashy, too much for my taste... or a Galant. Also, don't they run like +$600 a rim and about +$3000 total after you get tires for them?

So you think I'll be fine with the +35 offset and the suspension set up that I'm getting? (Teins and AGXs)

Roll the fenders as much as possible.

Put it this way. I have 19x8" wheels with a +40mm offset and they barely clear inside the wheel and outside the wheel. In the rear its really close to the strut. With aftermarket suspension you may be able to fit a higher offset like +38mm, +40mm, +45mm 20x8.5" wheels, but thats an extra .5" on top of what I'm already running at stock height.

If I was you I'd do something close to +40mm if possible, maybe +45mm if you are running aftermarket suspension that can allow for extra clearance.

Reelax has 19x8.5" wheels with a +48mm offset and they fit without rubbing, but I suspect ONLY because he has aftermarket suspension. So test fit (if possible) any wheels your looking to buy BEFORE you buy them. If they don't have that wheel maybe they have something that is the same fitment.

Btw, I just did a set of 20x8.5" +38mm Dropstars DS04s for $1850 installed. They average $320-360 per wheel for Dropstars, and roughly $400-500 for TIS.

If the camber is corrected to 0 in the rear, there's going to be more of a chance of rubbing correct? I noticed people running 20x8.5 have a little bit of negative camber or don't have camber kits

kolio

when you lower your car the camber always gets thrown off. if i am correct negative camber minimizes risk of rubbbing but chews your tires to hell
