(I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT ENGINES SO BEAR WITH ME, bear?)

so i think i might pick up a 6g74 from a local junkyard and build it up to put in my galant, but i have a couple questions first.

1)If i were to get the engine bored out to 4.1L, in order to keep the compression ratio of 9:1 i would need to get a thicker head gasket correct?

2)is 9:1 a safe comp ratio to have when turbo?

3)where can i get a custom head gasket?

4)around how much would the bore cost? how much for the head gasket? (ballpark)

P.S. don't expect to see a turbo 4.1L galant any time soon, it will take me years to get this kind of money probably.

edit: oh yea and if i got it bored out how would the pistons still make a seal? im kinda confused about that. would i have to buy custom pistons also?

i doubt highly that you could gain that much displacement from boring the hell out of a 6g74.
cylinder walls would be so thin.... and you'd never find a gasket even if it could be done.

4.1 liters on 6G74 can only be achieved with a longer stroke. Ray Pampena (3S guy) was supposed to make a stroker kit for the 6G74, but I'm not sure it was ever done.

ohh i see i was reading over at club3g and was under the impression you could bore it to 4.1, how much do you think it could be bored to then? 3.8?

Maybe 3.6 L or so. I'm not entirely sure, but I know the 6G72 can be bored to 3.15 L.

That really brings an idea into my head... Has anyone done this ? Per say... Bored out a 2.4 L Block ? What happens to the compresion ratio when doing this ?
