using that site what would i call those pieces? panels?

cbwdevil
07-28-2007, 07:39 PM
Try searching for the door, instrument pane, cluster, speedo. Odds are, if they have the door shell they should have a interior trim panel. Same goes for the instrument panel. Just find the yard closest to you and give 'em a call. Usually they will sell you the pieces you need.

cbwdevil
07-28-2007, 08:49 PM
Why not go black. Black and tan would look nice.

99 galant
07-28-2007, 08:53 PM
thats true, and if i paint the car red or black like i want to then it would go, gotta plan for the future

you could also get that "titanium trim" or the fake cf weave trim that were options on some of the later model galants if you are able to find them

you could also get that "titanium trim" or the fake cf weave trim that were options on some of the later model galants if you are able to find them

that could work, whats the fake cf weave trim? and titanium could go pretty well with the whole set up, or just paint it a nice silver

07-29-2007, 10:09 PM
those are the stock trim colors, titanium is like a goldish mealic type paint and cf weave uis just as it is you can get them from the dealer or a junker etc

ok that is hot did u have to take out the dash tho? yeah, the bottom part comes out pretty easy. There's a tutorial on how to get it out in the How to...Section.

is that the 3g steering wheel? how good is the fitment?

yea, it bolts straight no with no mods needed. The airbag uses the same plug and everything. Pretty much plug and play...

no, i just used a primer on everything, i used a flat black, might have to do a clear covering tho but i dont want a glossy look to it because some spots are rubbing a little, not bad for a home done job

yes, the door pannels were crazy to get off, i broke a few clips in the mean time, one thing i forgot to do was the clear coat and the paint and crap is rubbing a little, i thought it would give it a glossy look, but im going to have to find some sort of dull clear coat

took all day to do and now i have to take it all apart again lol, a year ago i could barely change a battery on my old car (gay saab) and now ive been doing much more then that some inprovement :D

if you want a glossy look, then you use should get dupli-color vinyl and fabric gloss black. It works real good and there's no need for a clear coat.

how easy is it to take the steering wheel off to replace it????

cbwdevil
08-07-2007, 09:49 PM
how easy is it to take the steering wheel off to replace it????

Real easy. DISCONNECT the battery for at least thirty minutes. Air bag could pop if you start pulling the bag out. After the thirty minutes there are two screws on each side of the steering wheel that hold the air bag on, take those out, unplug airbag. There is a 17mm nut that hold the wheel on, take this off. Now some say you need a wheel puller but you dont. Just take a hard flat object  and hit the wheel right above and below that nut with a hammer and it will come right off. Also, watch out for the clock spring.

I didn't even need that. I just gave a good hard snatch, and mine popped right off...
