I was thinking of trashing my old HID kit and get some new ones for my JDM headlights. I just noticed they have 50w HID kits. Anyone running those? Im just curious if theres really a difference. im looking at a 4300k kit.

50W? Do you mean 50K? if so then that would be too hot for any headlight.

no he is correct 50w standard hids usually come in 35w but there are some newer kits available in 50w....i havent seen them personally but from what ive heard they are brighter then the traditional 35w

Yeah, im just wondering if its worth it to buy the 50w kit over the traditional 35w one. Those generic comparison pictures i see on the websites and ebay arent convincing me so i was curious if anyone here has the 50w systems. lol 50000k, that would be practically a black light. 4300k for me...i like the OEM color.

i be afraid to mess up the factory harness with a 55watt kit.. i seen an 35K compared to 50K, they look twice ass bright. but you might have to upgrade your wireing.

I was looking to upgrade to a heavy duty wire harness with the headlight change, my wires look pretty dried out to begin with. If what youre saying holds true...imma buy'em. Ill try to do a comparison with the standard vs. the 50w kit and post pics.

I saw a 50w kit from blinglights.com for 390.00 and ive seen some on ebay ranging from 225-400 bucks. Im looking to go HID H7 50w on low beams and stick to halogens with my h1's 3000k and if i dont let go of my Mcculloch's, use a 3000k H3 bulb 3000k with that kit for my fogs.

You must be planning on blinding the shit out of oncoming drivers... especially if you don't have projectors to focus the beam

Im aiming them down. My current HID's on my OEM headlight has somewhat of a cutoff since the bulb has a shield on it. The originals that came with the mcculloch didnt have that shield and i wasnt feeling the 6000k...so i got some 4300k with a metal shield around the majority of the bulb. I want projectors but im impatient when it comes to fabricating them into the headlight housing. I was hoping that possible projector group buy from taiwan was true but i guess not.
