Yeh, i believe the V6 already comes with NGK Iridiums stock. Ive had mines in for the past 105K miles and havent changed them yet. Ill be doing that pretty soon though.

what you guys think of bosch platinum 2

i'd just stick with NGK. our cars are really picky about spark plugs and can/will raise hell if you give them something they don't like.

Anybody have luck with NGK iridiums on 4 bangers?

i don't see the need for iridiums or platinums on an i4. the only benefit you'll see to buying iridiums or platinum is longevity and on the i4, changing spark plugs is a snap so why spend the extra money on some expensive plugs if you can just get some cheap ngk copper plugs and have a fresh set of plugs every few months.

What do ngk copper plugs go for? I got the ngk iridiums for about $35 total.

unless you are FI or N2O, get the stock plugs... especially on the v6.

relax: do u know how much the stocks go for? i changed mine at 60,000 but dnt remember how much they were. also is it that much of a difference between the stock and the NGKs, i ask because im a V6, also because im at the 101,000 already and need to change them soon

the stocks on the 8G v6 are NGK; double platinum (part# PFR6G-11). they are about $12.00 EACH. the reason they are so expensive is they last 60K+miles... the back 3 plugs on the v6 are such a pain in the ass to access, mitsu put these plugs in there from the factory (so they would not have to be changed often). get them online as the dealer tried to charge me like $22.00+ EACH when i changed them on my second timing belt change at 120K miles!

do not b tempted into buying the bosch plugs (since they are so much cheaper)... our v6 is very picky when it comes to the plugs and if you have a problem w/ them and have to pull and replace, it will cost you alot (the labor on a spark plug change on the v6 is easily $100.00)! on the i4 the plugs can be changed in minutes... on the v6 we're talking hours.

here's a tutorial for the v6 spark plug replacement procedure:

I run NGK iridiums that are 2 heat ranges colder than factory, I likes them and it likes running leaner, it compliments the plugs well.
