how can something that saves gas add hp? just don't get it.... more hp= more gas consumption.

common sense. to add more HP you need more gas.

and also, of course they are scammers. They just used a stock photo of a galant, have a cheapo picture that was made on paint in like 2 seconds, and don't even show a picture of this "chip"

everything in the item description sounds like total bullshit too

It looks like you guys have a skewed perception of horsepower. A more efficient version of your engine could make more power while using less fuel.

When you lean out your high-load fuel curve closer to 14.7, you make more power. Less fuel = more power in some cases.

^ Correct.

Eitherway, that ebay link is a scam, I wouldnt use their product even if they gave it to me.

Exactly. Engine design is a key factor in fuel efficiency / performance. If design had nothing to do with performance, every 4cyl engine would have the same HP and same gas mileage, but they rarely do. Like the Hyundai Elantra motor has around 155 HP DOHC on 4 cylinders, but the Galant 4cyl is rated closer to 140 HP SOHC.
