i installed this cool push button start with rca keys a little bit ago and am wondering what other people think of it.one rca is accessory, the other is ignition. You have to press both buttons at once to start the car. I am just wondering other people's opinion other than the people that I work with.

thats a pretty good idea man. just make sure you dont have too much current going through the rcas though

that why i ran a pair of relays of the rcas so they don't fry anything

nice, and looks good. Only one question though.
Cant anyone with a set of rca's just pop in there and go with your ride? Do you have a failsafe?

first my rcas are wired differently than normal... and my failsafe is an alarm

i feel like that if someone wanted to steal my car they would get it no matter what i do.. someone could put the best alarm on a car and thieves could still pull a flatbed up to their car and take it.

Its deffinately a good idea. you wouldnt think starter by looking at a set of rcas, but if they really want your car, there isnt much that will stop them.

This is so interesting I would definitly put a kill switch or 2 somewhere. In my truck I had 3 switches and it wouldnt start unless they were in the right order. I always kept the key in the truck so I figured it would help to have this.

How do you unlock the steering wheel without having the key in?

very nice idea.... any links to how to do this? do you still use your regular keys?

This would be nice whenever my car feels like not starting up...

Well I am pretty sure its not the key but turning the ACC on that unlocks steering wheel. As long as its wired right itll work.

No, because when I use my remote start, my steering wheel is locked if I am remembering correctly.

If not, that makes our cars really easy to steal...

A remote start is different then a push button starter...

Remote start will shut off if you hit the brake a push button starter only starts if you have the key in place or a certain transponder chip in the car you cant sit in a new mercedes without the chip and hit the push button start. But if you have the chip u can hit start and drive.

A remote start is purely for warming up cars and looking cool at car meets like Roman who was like yeah Ill start my car when everyone else was just sitting in theres to start them

It uses the same concept though and I don't think he used a transponder key to do this one. I think he still has to turn his key to the ignition position to drive the car.

7Gs had Transponders? either way there are ways around it if he wired it right. There would be no real point, besides running out in winter and warming it up I guess, to this then if he cant drive without putting his key in.

I do not think this is true for our cars, may be true for newer ones but not ours. Haven't you ever noticed if the steering wheel is locked and you try to turn the key, its kinda hard to get the key to turn so you have to pull on the steering wheel a little bit to get it to turn? Its happened many times to me.
So there has to be a mechanism in the steering column that is linked to the ignition.
