Does anyone have any experience on removing the center floor console?!? I am trying to get to the CD changer wires that are underneath my transmission shifter. I have no idea why they put them underneath there but any tips/suggestions/instructions would be appreciated.

i think i have found some of the screws before, you may need to remove most of the dash stuff first around the radio and under the steering wheel and the glove box to get to the screws for it, not 100% sure but thats a start

Welcome to TGC! i dont have any pics on the topic, but i do know its easy as hell, its pretty common sense. Start by taking the gear shifter off, pop the piece of thats around the shifter. Then, open the console and take those screws out that are in the bottom. After that you should be about there just pull it out! I think there might be another screw or two after that.

i dont remember where all the screws are but you have to take out the shifter assemblly, as well as the area with the ashtray or cubby depending on your year (once you get off the shifter bezel you just pull it and it will pop off, i know that there are at least 2 screws toward the front near the shifter and a few in the back, just look underneath and you should see where they all are, its pretty straight forward

yeah
in addition to the ones under the armrest, there are two screws at the front near the ashtray. I know this cause i broke them trying to pull the console out after removing only the two under the armrest.

ok thanks guys, I got the console removed and to my surprise the CD changer stuff was not under there. So I am going to remove the factory head unit and see if the CD changer stuff is behind there. I am having problems with my reception going in and out and I am sure it has something to do with my CD changer. Any tips on removing the head unit would be appreciated!!!
