Muffler Questions

Has anyone ever taken off their muffler and started their car? It fuckin rocks!! Anyway, i'm not putting it back on, the sound and hp gain is awesome. I plan on running pipe to the bumper to make it look legit. Heres my questions: Will not having a muffler hurt anything (been off two days and still going good), is 3" pipe to big w/o a turbo?, and why the fuck can't i find the pipe to muffler gasket anywhere? (<--Autopart stores)

what did you do in place of the muffler, straight pipe?

Just weld on a tip and it will look like you have a muffler untill you get under the car. I have been running without a muffler for about 3 years. I think mufflers just add rasp to the exhaust note. Run a long resonator, no muffler, and a tip, and your set(at least with my application).

yea 3" for an na car is too big, nothing will happen though if you leave it off

you think that sounds great.... when i was changin up my header i started it up open hearder all i gotta say is wow holy shit it was freaking loud....

also when i did my five speed swap i exhanged my kamikaze header out for a dc long tube header nad ran no cat all the way to my megan racing cat back... it really had some insane pick up compared to it w/ a cat but it sounded a bid liek a freaking diesel..!

I bought my 8g from some guy who did quite a few mods. I've been tryin to find out what kind of muffler he put on mine, cause it's really nice... but there's no name on it anywhere. How could i find out?

actually KaspeR's car isnt loud at all.
I was rolling with him in my 2g, and it wasnt as loud as a riced honduh behind us

i've almost got mine done, i'll post some pics and a vid prolly 2morrow. Putting it back together tonight. (had to wait on exaust gasket it came in today!!!)

OK, its all back together now, very disappointed!! It's not as loud as it was before i guess because theres no echo. It still sounds badass tho. I bet the i4 isn't very loud at all, v6 sounds damn good. I will get some pics and a vid up 2morrow, its to dark now.
