You can always find any muffler shop for a down pipe. Wesellcarparts.com has a line cat converters and Megan catback/muffler at a good price.

please use the search function and do some research. If you have more specific questions then ask.

be forewarned when buying any headers for the 8g, there are 2 types of exhausts the Cali Spec an the Fed Spec. one has a pre-cat along with a secondary cat (fed)an the other type has 4 (cali) cats i believe.

companys whom sell exhausts for the 8g:

Obx- (headers, must find univeral muffler)

Rpw- (has full length headers)

Rippmods- (full length headers for the V6)

Kamikaze- (headers, must find universal muffler)

DC Sports- (headers.. not sure on this one if they fit or not but did see for sale for the 4g64 on Tearstone.com)

Megan Racing- (cat back exhaust with muffler included, good price on ebay for this one)

u can get almost any high flow cat, just need to measure the diameter opening of the piping, theres tons of companys to choose on that one. Magnaflow, Thermal R & D, Catco, an a dearth of others

Which is the BEST header? I have heard some bad things about OBX. Is it really as bad as what some say? And are there any others that have problems?

i dont really no if theres a best header, i mean to me all exhausts are the same, there all mandrel bent piping with 3/8' thick flanges. if i had my pick id go with the kamikaze headers because u can order them with a ceramic coating or the dc sports headers (theyve a good reputation with almost everything they make).

as far as the obx header, the price is unbeatable. i think there just ur basic set of headers. some people have good experiances with them some bad. i just orderd a pair of them so ill let u no. 8)

i have the RPW header. great buy in my opinion. yes, they are a little too pricy but i wanted them so i bought them. as for exhaust i installed a Megan Cat Back at the same time i installed the headers. its a great set up.

i have the obx 4-2-1 headers and i had to re-customize my entire exhaust set up but ended up turning out good in the end

So is there a problem with the OBX lining up with the Megan Racing Cat-back?

idk about the megan cuz my exhaust was custom to begin with. ur best bet would be to get 4-1 headers, keep stock down pipe flex pipe and cat, then throw on the megan

So pretty much it will have to be custom from the header to the exhaust? Ok, I think i can live with that. Thanks.

ya kinda. ur down pipe, flex pipe, and cat would be stock..the exhaust would be custom, and the headers would be aftermarket

well some of your information is wrong. for me, i installed the RPW 4-1 headers on my car with the Megan Cat Back. it was all direct bolt up with one another. i even put on a high flow cat. i dont know why all of you had to do "custom" work or whatnot but i think you guys might have to check out your stuff...

the best bang for you buck personally would be get a high flow cat and run a 2.5 to 3.0 inch piping all the way back to a magnaflow muffler. Thats what I have a if felt and sounded great. Plus a muffler shop sold it all to me for 150 minus the magnaflow muffler which you can get off ebay for a good price.

Its cause of the OBX header and the way it fits I would guess. The reason that you havent had any problems is cause you have RPW. Or atleast that is what I would guess anyway.

if your gonna do it right I would get the rpw because it fits perfect on neo's car. Seen it in person.

All headers are not created equal. Good headers take engine dynamics into account - they are modeled using airflow simulators and are tested extensively. The best-designed headers for our platform are by Hytech, but those are for the V6. Your next best choice would be RPW headers.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/2654000-2654999/2654607_43_full.jpg mine is all custom because my header set up took out all of the stock piping and couldnt bolt a catback on. so i had a custom one welded on and u bought the 4-1 headers..i bought the 4-2-1

so u have the 4-1 headers then aftermarket downpipe and high flow cat and catback?

i have the headers and mid pipe that came with the headers. put on a high flow cat. then from the cat, comes the cat back.... and thats it.

oh..ok. does ur exhaust stick out a little more though since u have the cat on?

yea i do. i like it. its not loud at all unless you punch it. i never do unless im in the expressway on my way home from school at night. it sounds a little louder due to the headers. the long tube makes them sound a bit louder but still good.

cool..ya, my first custom exhaust got warpped on the inside of the tip from the back pressure my headers were creating. it split the baffle on the inside open and was burning the insulation.
