well the other day i found out that most mitsubishi cars under the year 2000 were recalled for the lower front control arms. so all you have to do is go to the dealer and just ask and they fix it if your car hasn't been taken care of they did mine and it tightend my suspension up alot hope this can help you guys.

Yea this recall has been out for a while. I got mine fixed back at the beginning of summer. It's on the driver's side control arm.

there were actually 2 recalls on the 94 to 98 galants, and 95 to 99 eclipses.. both involved the lower lateral arms.
the latest one is this.. if there is more than .2 mm movement, they get replaced. if they have less, they get resealed.

thats it.
id say about 80 percent get replaced.

Well alright I get to go to my good old Mitsu dealer and get it fixed again then. Do they got anything out on the evo yet. I figure since I'm up there I might as well do some reading.

I took my Galant 98 to the Mitsu dealer and they said that there weren't any recalls for my Mitsubishi and that it was not under warranty. Does this mean that my car is fine or does it mean that since my car is not under warranty than they don't care if my car has the problem or not? Thanks.

because of the recall I got to sue mitsubishi for $1600 and they gave it to me within a week of my lawyer writing them a letter and presenting thme with a bill.

I lost control on a turn coming off the highway and rann off road screwing up everything connected to the driver side wheel. Mitsu 2 weeks later sent me the recall card for the control arm ( but this was like 6 months ago or more) and I mailed em back a letter from my lawyer with the bill of damages https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I went back twice to 2 different dealerships about the recal, and they all said don't worry about it.

I think not. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

They told me certain cars were built differently and some crap. They never even checked it. Dunno what the deal is there, and I'm going to go to ANOTHER Mitsu dealership and ask again...

they were. some were japanese built cars that werent affected by the recall.
some didnt have failed control arms, so all they got was re-sealed.
and its possible yours has just already had the recall done.

so what your saying is that even though my car is an inch off the ground and half of it doesnt look like a stock Mitsu anymore that they will change my ball joints for me free of charge? Damn i could have save the money i spent for those part from the junkyard,

Is there any special papers or requirements for me to bring to the dealers?
