Junkyard Find

I use to go to the junk yard around south florida all the time but now since I moved up north a little I forgot to check what these yards had to offer.

Yesterday I went to one and found a 7g 5speed untouched 163000 on odo...
The yard also had a few kia's but i gota do my research to find out what the 8g's want from which specifi year...

Anyways if anyone wants anything from this 5speed, reply to this post or drop me a pm Quick... You never know how long it will be there....

Well Didn't get very many hits on parts but I also found a 7g GS in a yard... If anyone is interested in any parts pm or reply....

Also Know where a few 8g's are too. I found a couple with untouched radio bezels, window switches etc...

What's the condition of the head....or its rear brake system? :mrgreen:

Ya its the hard to find 94 DOHC GS Galant.,..I was shocked seeing one. I was thinking of getting the rear bake setup, cause they looked perfect, but Iam lazy :)

The dohc Valve cover was removed and the cams/gears and everything else looked fine... I should of taken a pic :roll:

Does anyone know what type of socket to use to get those head bolts out? :?: :?:

i could use an 8G radio bezel.. did they ever come in black?

I think it's a 12 pt. 12mm but that might just be for the ARP studs im not positive.

Ya I noticed some really big allan bolts holding down the center of the head, I'am going to pick up a tool for that at sears...

There were also a bunch of bolts that resembled the ARP head studs but the tops of the bolt were in a star pattern.

The 8g bezel was wood grain... Does the rear caliper come off the same way as the 7g? just 4 bolts that hold on the rear disk brake assembly for the 8g ( i know I should probably ask in the 8g forum)

8G is the same way 4 bolt hold everything to the knuckle

If its the same bolts as the sohc 4g64 it should be a 12 point 12mm socket.......

Well I get bored and hit up junk yards in the day sometimes cause of my afternoon/night job... I live close to a yard in west palm located around 45th street... Theres two more side by side on belvedere in west palm and the yard I got lucky in and got my 16g turbo is in fort lauderdale at 31st and right before you get to sunrise... They have a few 8gs and 2g eclipse all the time..

The yard with the gs is far away though... I duno If iam going to get the parts I want form it :cry:
