I'm interested in a spring kit (2002 Galant V6) and would like to know if anyone has any of the following kits installed:
Eibach pro Kit # 6028.140
Megan Racing # mr-ls-mg99

I currently have Tein kit # SKR72-AUB00 installed and thinking of replacing them. I had them installed about a year and a half ago and the ride seems to have gotten horrible. Seems to be lower and out of control. When I installed the springs I also installed KYB GR-2 (#235630 RF, #235631 LF and #341293 rear) as well. I left the OEM strut/shock mounts. I thought of maybe leaving the Tein springs and replacing the struts/shocks with KYB AGX # 734019 RF, #734020 LF and #741020 rear (00-05 Eclipse all, none for 8g Galant). I did take in cosideration that fake Tein springs are available however, did check the springs for painted on logo, not sticker. do not have or checked original box for label differences. Anyway, i believe either the springs or struts/shocks are defective but not sure. Any information on what the problem may be or the above mentioned spring kits would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Check your struts/shocks before replacing the springs. Tein springs - unless you bought some fraudulent eBay knockoffs - are very high quality. The GR-2s are NOT meant for a drop, only stock ride height. The AGX shocks/struts are made for lowered configurations.

the kyb's warranty are void if you lower the car over 1.5" gr2, agx doesn't matter. if you don't want to technically void your kyb's warranty, the eibach are the way to go.

if you think your teins are "worn out", try contacting tein and getting them replaced.

well keep in mind that the v6 has a vibration problem from 20-30ish. i have the eibachs and they were on stock shocks for about 1 yr n half n now i have gr2 but i still think the car rides like ass, it feels like the springs are to soft so i have alot of body roll on turns. Since u have had the shocks for almost 2 yrs then thats probly ur problem. buy a set of agx's and see wat happens. if the problem keeps happening then go for another set of springs. depending on the ride height u can also go with the eibach sportlines for the eclipse which drop it lower than the regular eibachs. the teins are definatly stiffer than the eibach pro kit tho i think. let us know what happens

Thanks for the replys. All was installed 5/05(19,659 miles, now 34,200). I agree with checking the struts/shocks before replacing the springs. pinoyesv6, I was going to contact Tein once I locate my shipping information from vender. If I were to have them replace, I'd be in the same position regarding the KYB warranty(I'd go with Eibachs if I needed to replace the Tein). alexvr, I have the same vibration in the front as well(V6 auto). I even changed the mounts to Deyeme racing mounts, which helped once installed (due to broken mount) but I still feel it. As for comparing spring rates, Tien has kit # SKR72-AUB00 advertised as 240lbs/inch for front & 180 lbs/inch for the rear. Eibach doesn't list ispring rate so I couldn't compare the two. Is a higher spring rate always better?
Don't know if this is relevant, but I also have SPC Performance front camber Kit # 8120 & rear camber kit # 73600 installed with RMDSM front/rear sway bars as well.
Will it cause a problem if the KYB AGX (734019 RF, 734020 LF and 741020, Eclipse 00-05) struts/shocks were installed due to the weight difference between the two vehicles?
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Just to follow up regarding the intsallation of the KYB AGX shock/struts (00-05 Eclipse)on 2002 Galant and what would be different. I've contacted KYB and received the following reply: "The "basic" design of the eclipse is the same. I cannot say if the piston travel is similar. Engineering will not authorize me to say it will work. Overall travel, then the distance between the contact point to the bump stop. It can be too long (smashing the piston on the base valve) or too short (piston top-out)". He didn't mention if weight was a factor or not.
KYB's customer service has always been helpful and professional.
I've ordered the KYB AGX shock/struts (734019 RF, 734020 LF and 741020, Eclipse 00-05) . If interested in ordering the above items for $345 shipped, contact the following;

Does any member have these installed (734019 RF, 734020 LF and 741020, Eclipse 00-05) on 8gen Galant ES-V6? I'm interested in knowing if these are adjusted with a small slotted screwdriver by turning the screw head on top of the piston rod or external knob? Also, what settings, front & rear are being used? Your comments, suggestions and time is appreciated.

i have the kyb agx struts 8 stage adjustable struts and i have the eibach springs pro setup 1.5 drop and i love them. that set up is the best setup i have ever done. if you go to www.eibach.com you can find the springs kit there. at www.kyb.com you will find the pro strut kit. you will be verry happy it is the sickest set up ever. i give it 10 rev's. lol

fq2691, are there two line of AGX shocks/struts (one with external knob for adjustment and one that are adjusted with a small slotted screwdriver by turning the screw head on top of the piston rod ? )? Or is it that only certain applications receive the 8 stage knob? Do you have the following AGX shocks/struts as well, (734019 RF, 734020 LF and 741020, Eclipse 00-05)?
Just learned that space will decide what AGX shocks/struts will receive external knob, with regard to make/model.
