If it's going on an evo, I would go with 280s. The 272s are mild for the Evo.

If you are just going 272s though, you shouldn't need anything. If you want to you can get titanium retainers/

Why would he be posting here if it were going on an Evo?

272/272 is NOT mild for an Evo, nor is it wild. 280's are going to give you a really rough idle.

http://buschurforums.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=6394 upgraded valve springs and retainers are recommended, but not required if you're keeping a stock rev limit (which is even lower than the Evo VIII on the 4G64).

ive got 272 cams may go with 280, supertech 1mm+ nitrate coated valves, supertech dual valve springs, bronze valve guides, supertech titanium retainers for dual springs, stock lifters, head was ported exhaust was polished but the intake was not, adjustable cam gears then everything was cryotreated sept for the gears lol

Well if the EVO head is going on a 4G64 block, I would say to scrap the double valve springs, since your not revving past 7500, HKS 272's are fine, I wouldnt go with 280's unless your running a standalone because the idle is biatch. There is no harm in doing 1mm over valves, I have Supertech's w/Nitride coating just like underated. I also have the crower single spring and titanium retainer kit.

Someone above mentioned pistons, I hope he realizes that those dont go in the head. If you are inquiring about pistons tho, you should definetly consider the use of the car. If its going to be a street car running most of the time on pump gas I would do 8.8 or 8.5:1 compression pistons and a thicker headgasket so that the final compression is between 8.3-8.5:1

If you plan on spending alot of time on meth injection and/or race gas, then go 9:1 with a regular thickness gasket. The reason I say this is because lower compression allows you to run a few more pounds of boost on the street without worrying about detonation. Its already a 2.4 liter so the turbo spool wont be effected much at all. NAPALM on club 3g has 7.8:1 compression pistons on his car and he runs 25psi on pump gas, a little laggy, yes, a ton of fun at WOT, YES!!!

yah like Stewi said the dual springs are overkill in a 2.4l i plan on reving to 8k at the most and i got these for next to nothing so i figured why not
