ticking time bomb??

okay so my 96Galant makes this weird tick tick ticking noise that sounds like imma bout 2 blow up in a few seconds. my car has made a lot of noises so thats not whats weird about it. It only makes this sound when the button by all the aircon stuff that controls the recirculation or fresh air in the cabin is pressed in (or maybe out i can't really tell cuz theres not much of a visible difference). it sounds like it's in my dash...then i press it and it's gone...but if i press it again it is back....im guessing itz nothing major....but Any ideas of what this is?

Its a common problem among 7g's...luckily its a easy fix.

The recirculation vent is behind the glovebox.

Empty out your glovebox and pinch each side of the glovebox so you can release it from its sliding track. You will see a black box with a rod connected to the vent door. Thats the part thats causing your "clicking" noise that is common on 7g's. If you go to a salvage yard or if you want it brand new either dealer of maybe aftermarket and replace the part.
