1) but what is synthetic oil and why is it recommended for cars?

2) what is the alternative to synthetic oil?

do you guys use synthetic oil for your older galatnts aka 2001 GTZ??

1) oil that is synthetically made. It's not recommended but is an option for the 8g since regular oil does it's job.

2) the alternative for synthetic oil is...well, regular oil :wink:

3) yes, we do 8) I used Royal Purple 10W30, some used Mobile 1 and AMSoil.

I like Mobil1, I switch from 10w-40 to a 5w now, I like it :D
