Divinity

Did you put them on the correct sides this time dumbass?
L = Left
R = Right

RedGalant2k1
12-14-2007, 12:19 PM
How did you even figure they'd even have a remote chance of fitting?

If you want dual piston calipers just buy them for a 8G V6 Galant.

you think? ill take a pic of the caliper if anyone wants it looks like a regular calper and itll fit, but the bracket dont fit my car, im totally pissed, i donno what bracket to really use its like a 3000gt caliper, the hose connect at a angle not straight on

It sounds like you should have done abit more research before tackling this project. Brakes are nothing to mess around with and you should definetly consult someone that has more experience than this.

I dunno, I have to see the pics... just becuase of your episode with installing your rear brakes.

Divinity

Well whatever you do... don't drill any holes... and try swapping the brackets around, if that doesn't work, I'll give you mine from the 3000gt

duh2150
12-14-2007, 12:33 PM

div measure across the bolt holes on your bracket.

qnz
12-14-2007, 12:45 PM
they wont fit. I've posted this many times. diamante ones are the same size as 2g GSX ones. the holes on the brackets are closer. You need the brackets from a 00 3g v6, or a 99 8g v6. only those brackets will fit.

duh2150
12-14-2007, 12:45 PM
stock braket is about 6.5" and 1g bracket is about 5"

Divinity

Alright, hold on, let me find my measuring tape

RedGalant2k1
12-14-2007, 12:51 PM
Still why bother with diamante calipers? Why not just get V6 8G dual piston calipers? Those are a guaranteed fit bracket and all.

the chance of finding a v6 galant over here is very slim for osme reason most of them are 2.4l

It is a matter of being right or wrong. If they didn't fit why tell him they do? Why let him bother with this whole mess of attempting to install incorrect calipers and brackets in the first place? Why let him spend money and time on something that won't work anyways?

You should be the one refraining from speaking on this topic. Its been verified many times over that if one wants dual piston calipers for their I4s to use V6 8G calipers. Why even consider something so obviously wrong? Why tell another member that it would work?

Have a little common sense....unbelievable.

Then buy them from a local autoparts store like Napa, Pepboys, Autozone, O'Reilly etc...

Remanufactured calipers aren't that expensive, especially seeing that you get the right brackets, pads, and hardware that will fit each and every time.

Trust me on this, its my business to know vehicle maintenance and mechanical repair.

00 3g v6, or a 99 8g v6. only those will fit.
Dont waste your time on trying to put diamante parts, 3000gt, or other shit on your car, just get the right part from 00 eclipse v6 or 99 galant v6.

Come on man lets be real. Its your brakes, its a important safety feature of your vehicle and if you don't have the money you really should be messing around with it.

Modify something else like your wheels, body kit, intake, or exhaust. If you can't properly modify your brakes you really should take on that project.

You need to calm down a little. I have every right to tell people that they shouldn't mess around with their brakes if they don't have the right parts, or the money to be doing so.

Its a big deal (especially to the member who is having the problem) because if that bracket is mangled up to be 'made to fit' you open yourself up to all sorts of possible problems. Its not right on your part to be telling other people what to put on their cars for brakes.

Legally you could put your self in harms way. So whether you like it or not, I'm protecting him and you here. Look I don't have issue with you, you seem quite knowledgeable in a lot of things, but not with mechanical parts.

Don't mess with brakes, do it right.

Don't tell me to calm down about anything. You don't know me, you don't know him, you don't know anything about my knowledge or his knowledge of cars, so that doesn't even give you the right to comment on that. It's not a big deal because it's getting fixed. I know how Aaron is and I didn't want him to mess with it to try to get them to work because he is a little drill happy when things don't fit. I just supplied the parts, I'm not doing the install, so it's the person who's doing the install responsibility as well. I was told the parts to get, so I got them. So really, I don't need your protection. I didn't ask for it. I see you changed your tune a little bit, but whatever. And by the way about your previous comment, for me to get over myself, you need to get over me first. You're always quick to jump on my back over shit you think you know absolutely everything about. In this case, you don't know shit about the whole situation.

hell yeah im drill happy! :) i almost made it work! redgalant dude if you wanan contribute in helping find some more brackets we can take from.

calipers aint wrong the brackets are wrong

and i know my place around cars, if i didnt know what i was doing, i wouldn't be doing it thast why im making the calipers work, so i can say that i got differnt calipers then everyone else even tho they are almost the same

doing what everyone else is doing is boring, try putting your calipers on the opposite side next time, its little odds and ends that counts, dont be a sheep to everyone else

everyone= 8g calipers
me and div= diamante calipers

The brackets are wrong.

I don't overreact about everything, you just make every situation as worse than it really is, usually adding one of your very biased opinions to it.

You don't know me or shit about me.

I could care less about what you do.

You don't know shit about the situation that involves Aaron and I with this matter.

Next time there is something that involves me on here, just don't say shit at all.

I am done with you on this thread.

Anyway, Aaron I'll let you know later tonight if I'm going to be busy tomorrow morning. I'll talk with you later.
