ok so i started today around 3pm and finished around 10pm and here is how it went

first i started with the front driver side which went smooth and by the way i used an electric impact wrench and that helped alot

i had a slight problem with the sway bar nut as i didnt get to tighten it all the way when i was installing everything back, also the plate that holds the 3 screws that bolts under the hood was slightly bent and i guess that was a result from the accident that silvichronic got into but a simple small tap with a hammer on 2 of the screws fixed the problem of fitting them into the holes

then i started on the passenger front and the 2 big screws werent getting loose and i sprayed away with wd40 and they finally came off but the screws for the sway bar link stripped where the allen wrench goes in as i was removing the the nut and that pissed us off

we left the front as it was for the mean time and we started on the back, that was the easiest and it took us a total of 45 minutes for both sides

then went back to the front where i used a big enough drill bit and drilled the center of the screw out until the nut came off and then installed the suspension with no problem, all that was done by 8pm

from 8pm till 10pm was just adjusting all sides to make it even enough and mind u all that was done outside the garage since we never got around to clean the garage out this week and the weather was cold but i was bundled up but by 7pm the wind got really bad

the main problem that is still bothering me is that i had a problem adjusting the heights on the front passenger side damper cuz it gave us a hard time trying to spin it with the wrenches, one of the wrenches bent and we straightened it and then me and my cousin used both wrenches to turn it as one person couldnt make it move at all, and mind u this is the side that i just got brand new from megan on thursday and im still puzzled of why it did that

now the car is in the shop getting an alignment and getting the sway bar link fixed

i only took few pics of before and after the installation, i forgot to take any during the installation, ENJOY!!!

So i got a call from my mechanic today and bitched at me for not setting this perfect lol i said to him i will align everything to perfection but i didn't since i got so tired and he told me not to get an alignment yet also he did notice the negative canber on the rear that i didn't notice which means i gotta do the home depot canber kit so sometime next week it will be up in the air and i will redo the pre load along with the height adjustment but for now it looks good but not slammed enough yet

100x better.

I remember the night I got my coilovers installed it took me from 7pm to 3am I worked on the rear by myself in less than twenty and the front with a buddy took a few hours cuz of the stupid sway bar links.

It looks a lot better now dude.

looks much better Alex. Me and Angel had the same problem with the front when we did my teins. We couldnt get the bolts loose either. We tried for hours, sprayed them with lots of pb blaster, and tried to heat them aswell. A few days later I went to Romans mechanic who used a better impact gun with a larger compressor and it took him longer to figure out the right way to lift my car then it did to get the bolts loose.

thanks for the comments guys, the main problem wasnt the bolts it was as most of u said the sway bar links but i got the passenger side replaced and it cost me 65 bucks and the driver i will eventually replace, once the weather clears a bit and not be really cold i will lift it up again and tune every side to perfection, i have the dampers set to the softest and its bouncy so i might harden it a lil bit and see the difference

if its bouncy then its not configured properly.

also keep in mind that winter roads are always very buckled
the cold makes them contract and causes them to warp.
also the cold weather means it takes much longer for your suspension to warm up. the hydraulic fluid in your dampers as well as the metals in the springs have to get warmed up for them to ehave as they are supposed to.

i havent thought about that but u make alotta sense and thats ok cause this car is not my daily anymore, it sees about 50 miles every 2 weeks cuz i work alot and i have no time to go out and when i do then she does too :D

as far as configuring it right thats my next step but its too cold now

do u guys think i should lower the front more ???

Looks good! Do you know what setting the megans are set on?

One comment though, it looks like you might want to get new lugnuts or at minimum make sure they have a short shank on the bottom like OE Mitsubishi lugs do. I would highly recommend if you don't have OE mitsubishi lugnuts you get some for those wheels.

x2 Need some day time pics.

Looks good though. Hopefully when I do mine at tax time, I won't have all those problems. But I don't think I will because my Megan's were just installed in June of 06.

Yeah I was going to mention something about those lug nuts.. You need to go back to oem nuts when you're riding oem rims.. Those aren't going to do so well.. you should take those off asap.. other than that.. Looks good!

as far as i'm concerned the lug nuts you are using are used on bigger rims that ur factory oem lug nuts wouldn't fit!! the oem lug nuts get a better grip at the wheels u have right now than the one u currently have on!! they told me that at a tire shop one time i went to chance some tires!! they told me to go back to the original oem lug nuts for mitsubishi rims!! good luck!!

If you look at the wheel itself you will notice it DOES NOT have a cone seat like most aftermarket wheels.

Below is a picture of a coneseat lugnut:

In other words those wheels on your car are NOT seated properly to the hub, and that needs to be corrected asap.

Looks like a sprint spring drop honestly. Unless you are going to drop it further then it won't be slammed. I would adjust the front to sit low as the rear though.
