Hey everyone its been awhile but i have been doing alot to get ready for these shows here in belton and killeen little shows but gotta show the G. So my wide body g is now done heres how it came out.

For a widebody to be complete you really should look into getting some wide 3 piece wheels, and you may also need to put spacers along with it to compensate for the wide flares.

good work on the wide body, looks funny without the wheels to complement it, but it's good work. As for the color choice (the purple is hot btw), the wing, the absence of the a grille... no comment. I'll leave that to Serstylz2 or Warm

i think a solid colour would've been better, wider wheels with spacers possibly to compensate for the new width, and a different front. concept is great, but what about interior/engine to match for show?

well actually the purple is marblized its a black base with red marblizer on top. and the whole interior matches ill take pics as for the motor the car was silver red and blue before and didnt have time before the show to change it i placed second in my catagory out of 10 cars. so im its not that bad.

I would have kept the purple through the whole body, and where the fender flares and bottom of front bumpers I would have gone with a darker purple to contrast and show the widebody styling. The green I really don't like but it's your choice obviously.

It would have been cool if you painted it dark royal blue and gotten black wheels with an anodized red lip (sportmaxx) and had someone airbrush the Boricua flag on the top ha ha, Dukes of Hazzard style!

Other than the wheels you did a good job you should be proud

The paint color choices are definitely not my taste, but looks like good work. You HAVE to get wider wheels with a lower offset and maybe some spacers. thats one thing that pisses me off, people do these nice widebody kits, but forget to fill the widebody in with wheel!

Other then the paint color and wheels, I think its pretty decent.

Just go to a wheel shop. Have them test fit different 19" wheels. Probalby go with at least an 8" wheel in the back with a lower offset like 35mm or so. Might try some spacers too to fill out the gap.

im just gjunna go ahead and tell you what i would do if i had your car, you can take it or leave it, take off the wing, paint it a solid color, any solid color..., get lower offset wheels, stock taillights, maybe drop the front a little more, and maybe get some foglights or mesh or somthing on the front bumper, it looks to empty to me..

fill the front gaps with mesh or fogs like mentioned above

and PLEASE align ur hood better than that cuz it looks like shit

i looked at it twice and the first time i didnt i like the color but the second time it didnt look that back, i would've done the whole car purple and painted the lower trim black like an inch all around

i like the wide body. lower the car w/ coilovers or air. get some nice multi piece wheels 20x10 front and 20x13 rear. the rim shoud be flush w/ the fender and the tires stretched back to clear. lose the altezza tails, those are gross. good work so far!

I cant tell from the pictures...but did you have to mold the flares in the rear into the doors? I cant tell if the flare stops before it meets the door, or if it flows into the door? If you got it to stop before the door I would like to know how you did that, because it was torture when I did mine.

The wide body isnt bad. I agree with everyone that you should have painted the whole thing that purple. Wider wheels= a MUST!! Also, in my opinion you gotta lose that wing and feel the gaps in the front. By the looks of it, i think almost everyone agrees. With those changes though it wouldnt be that bad of a show car! Gotta give PROPS though on the work and going out there and making it your own!

For those who want to see this car burned to the ground, let me add something. In Texas, we have several car shows that would appreciate this work of art. One of them is a Latino based group called Los Magnificos. It's not your typical car show which showcase what tuner parts and trinklets, rather it's focused on the artwork the owner puts in. Edit: Gspot, I've seen 2 cars in Jacksonville that are almost the exact same thing as that Concorde, I think one is a burnt orange and the other one is the same pink. The blue one and green one, that's everyday in Jacksonville lol. Old Caddies, Lincolns, Buicks, Chevys.... those are the best cars to mod all crazy. But then there's always the saying: "You can choose the paint, but the paint doesn't always choose the car" Some cars could rock a certain paint jobs, some can't.

Thats a nice choice ASTIG...i had my car painted that color earlier this year. Only thing though, any damaged part is going to be harder to paint match and cost more due to all the pearl in the paint. The color your talking about is the Glacier Frost Mica right?

It looks like ur radiator was painted too. Id get some Black mesh grille and insert it in front of the radiator. Id also pick up a set of rectangle shaped fog lights to fill up those gaps. Also pick up a pair of black housing USDM headlights. Sure JDM would look better, but i think it might require some extra mods not including the required mods for JDM heads. Thats why i say black housing USDM headlights will save you time and money.

The altezzas actually look damn good color matched. JDM tails are mostly red, and would obviously not compliment the paint scheme.

Get some wider larger wheels. Some 18 or 20 inch wheels with a 5spoke design would suit you well.

*I would really have the green paint removed. You should have it replaced with a Sunburnt Orange, Black, or even a Deep Red.

*Props on building a unique Galant. Pay no mind to any negative comments, mod your car the way you see fit. 8)

so texas is wild? that means we should like in other areas. the bottom line is, if you are happy, nothing else matters.

if you really want a different color that nobody has on a galant, go for it. but the green is terrible. the purple is nice, and i dont think anybody was knocking you for it. you should have used the purple as the main color for the car.

altezzas are crap. point blank. the fact that they are all over the internet and ebay makes them extremely easily accessible. i see a lot more galants with altezzas than jdms, the only reason you think a lot of people have jdms is because they are on the site. other than tgc, not too many people have the jdm tails. im not saying go with jdm, but with the money you spent on the car, altezzas make it look even tackier.

and you dont want to be like everyone else? ok, so you did the same thing as everyone else that you will be competing against. you went with an outrageous color on the car. something simple would have made the car look a lot better. let the body work, which is pretty good, do the talking for the car and it will be a lot better. not too many people have widebody galants, but a lot of people can put crazy paint on their cars.

So I just saw the car and I think the only thing I don't like about it are the wheels and the green color. The car would look better with another two-tone color that actually goes with the purple (IMO). The wheels are just too cheap for the widebody look and what could be an awesome paintjob. The wing isn't that bad - I've seen it look good on several Galants. The altezza tail lights are acceptable because they are color matched to the purple color.

Please do not do Lambo doors on a 4-door. EVER. Suicide rear doors, maybe, but NEVER Lambo doors on anything but a coupe, or, better yet, a Lamborghini :lol: And please don't get a turbo kit unless you're going to use it for what it's made for.

My only problem with this car is the green, i wouldve gone with a sunburnt orange or dark red. But thats just my opinion. I refuse to flame anyone whos put a ton of work into their Galant. i like the wide body. lower the car w/ coilovers or air. get some nice multi piece wheels 20x10 front and 20x13 rear. the rim shoud be flush w/ the fender and the tires stretched back to clear. lose the altezza tails, those are gross. good work so far!

I would do 18x9.5 or 19x9.5 with a +25mm offset. With either 275/35-18s or 285/30-19s. Then 18x8.5 or 19x8.5 with a +30mm offset with 235/40-18s or 235/35-19s.

6G72, I would actually say JDMs would look better than Altezzas in this case. Though I'd agree the green is simply too much. I would have done the purple all over the car.

It's not even the style.... I'm used the same 'style' where I'm from. It's the fact that certain cars can handle certain colors, and the Galant is definitely one of those cars that can't handle every color. There's 3 Galants in Jacksonville that have 'this style' and 2 are sweet is hell (gold/black two-tone, and a pretty ass sparkly hot pink on 22s with flake tint) one is hideous because it's just the wrong color(Highlighter yellow). The lime green color would look good on any other car with smoother sexier lines maybe or a bigger car and probably a little more metallic, a shade or two darker, or the same affects done with the purple. Maybe even the tone was laid up higher. Just lime green is a bad color choice to complement a Galant. It ain't ready for it. Not every car can handle certain colors....

The one thing I notice is that it looks like the radiator and PS cooler were painted green. It almost looks like overspray. Should have told the painter to mask that shit off!

nope still wrong, altezzas are ugly on any car but an altezza. TRIGGERMAUVE is in JAPAN. they are doing what we are doing but in reverse. the alltezzas were made for the USDM market... they are going for uniqueness since there tails are the JDM's. in asia there are some tuners that are even using USDM parts to be unique. but altezzas still look yucky on the galant (at least the TYC ones that are readily available).

o and jdm tails are red and white; there is no amber lens on them... now taiwan had a version w/ amber signals but we're not talking about those right?

Eh. Basically everything has been said already...but honestly, all that work for body and paint and the hood doesn't line up? The heads and tails both look foggy which would bother me a lot. My G's front fender got smashed completely and it lines up straighter than that. I don't like how the split line for the colors doesn't match the body lines up front. It seems to squared off for the 8G, which has more of a streamlined feel stock. The seats and the interior are still grey? Eh. The wheels, eh.

It's funny, because when I saw the first picture I thought it was a photoshop that I had done a while back to see the ugliest color I could make...

I like the purple / red color, but there is just no way that lime green matches that. I'm not one for body kits, but as far as making the widebody, it looks solid. Just the flow of everything could be locked down a bit better.

I'm not trying to dis or hate or anything like that, but if I paid to fix up my car with a body kit and a paint job and it came out like that I would be PiST. Definitely need to mesh the grill. It has potential, it just needs some more loving.

It's definitely unique. But I wouldn't be proud about how unique you are using a bright green color on a Mitsubishi....

what i'm trying to open ur mind to see is this is a show car... the form follows function argument does not hold here... it's about the look, not the functionality... rather function follows form. mechanically, yes there is no good reason to stagger wide rears and narrow fronts on a FWD car... but for looks you could stagger a car w/ absolutely no engine or drivetrain... see what i mean? now for best performance, wider fronts does make sense on a FWD (but this just plain looks weird). as far as my car, i went as wide as is possible on stock body. if i were to do a wide body, it would be staggered on air. at that point the car would never be driven hard again as it would be done strictly for aesthetics not for function. the sizes i suggested would actually b for my own setup... as it stands now, my car is arguably one of the best handling USDM galants in the nation but w/ a $6000.00 body kit, it's not that much fun to push it to those levels... i'd rather go slow and go for looks now (and not risk damaging the fragile FG), although anything is possible when i get bored... i could go for speed or go straight to VIPstyle, but probably never both.

well maybe 2-3 years ago it was up there... since then alot of people have been buying the good stuff and not being cheap. but my car has pretty much the top level of suspension work done to USDM's... full underbody chasis bracing, matched coilovers, swaybars, widest tires, biggest wheels etc. i said had arguably ONE of the best. there are probably 20+ G's w/ the same setup i have (or comparable). handling wise it will spank 99% of 8G USDM's out there on a skid pad. remember my car has been a test bed for many companies and has prototyped parts since 1999... those companies did their tweaks and tuning on my car as well as installed alot of the parts themselves to measure the results.

Again, the owner of this Galant should expect all kinds of criticism with it's different look. I'm kind of tired of people treating TGC like a daycare. Yeah, we should all act like a big family, but some of us need to learn how to take criticism without getting offended.

Still, I think you're getting offended for no reason. It's a reasonable assumption to say that this style of car is probably driven by a Hispanic. On topic, the widebody work is nice, could be slightly improved, but I give props for that area. Other than that the car is horrible. I can honestly say it looks like something you put together in Need For Speed for shits and giggles with your buddies when you're bored as hell. What's funny is I've never had a single person laugh at my modding of the FWD 6G72. This includes Honda ricers, DSM guys, muscle car guys, Subaru guys, VW guys, etc, etc. Speak for yourself, I plan to keep my car clean enough so that only a delusional person would laugh at it.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, this "high and mighty" Galant owner hasn't insulted this guy's car once. I think it could look pretty good with a few minor modifications, but it'll still be a wild show car at heart :lol:

Honestly, I think it could be a real nice looking car. The green just doesn't do it for me though. Like you had said earlier I think it is a bit to flat to go with the purple. But I think if the whole car was in the purple it would look 100x better. I just can't get used to that green color.

k im back. its been said before, burn it to the ground, paint it a solid color, go back to how it was, etc etc etc.

here im going to clear this up as if the six pages havent already. i know and understand very well what the purpose of a show car is and what it is supposed to do. but YOU must understand that a show car not only requires originality but TASTE. if you do not incoporate that aspect then it looks like something that people will pass by and either laugh at or sneer at. let alone the judges. they are the ones that you are really trying to impress am i right? if so then i think you need to pay closer attention to those who win and those who dont even get considered.

a full show car also is never driven. if it were then it would be too much of a hassle to clean and to return it to show car status. essentially cars that are done with immaculate paint on the underbody and chrome suspension parts with lavish paint schemes adorning the entire car would be a total waste of money. if you are going to do something like this with your g then more power to you. but dammit if you are going to drive this everyday then you really need to focus on where and how you spend your money and attention. please for your sake dont drive this car daily, it will be a mockery of all of us that are not seen and have been very good representatives of this community. i commend you for taking in all this critisism and not shying away or even blowing up on everyone, but do just that, use the critising to fuel your motivation. no one here is ever going to knock anyone else for being original but when you step outside of the mold and take on a new form like this just do it with taste, class, and style. there are some very good reps of this for example: Reelax,Billet, Cali, Censee, 02on19s, and many more embody these traits. others like myself, Warmandscsi, Goosey, Seth, Stewi and so on take care of the beasts that form the functional group. so again like it was said, dont do lambo doors on a sedan of any sort, get rid of the altezzas, no turbo kit, get some rims to fill that gap, get rid of the evo 7 wing, drop the bitch, and do something about all that damn over spray. but overall nice job on the wanting to be different... that you sure didnt fail on. :?

but back to the original subject matter of the post. Great work on the widebody setup BUT there are elements of your car that just clash with one another

The widebody work says $$$$ and time was invested in this car
The rims say 'I got these from a 17yr old on craigslist'
The tail lights n wing say budget civic

Some of those cars that you showed us from your local cars shows are nice. They are quality all the way around. The widebody on your car is def quality but those rims and tails gotta go at the very least. The paint job, I personally think is hideous, it looks like you're sponsored by (edit) Sour Skittles... but thats all on you. Just bring the rest of the G up to par with that custom body work and you'll have a sick car. Good luck.

The over spray in the front doesn't help whatsoever, putting a grill in would hide it and make it look alot better.

Yeah I tried not to use it so much, but the reflection of that "Monkey Puke Green" was still there on the purple after I changed the top to black. So I had to blend it somehow...

Next time try making a new layer that is an outline of the color you want to replace and use the layer blending arithmetic to get the desired color.

I'm declaring the car impossible to save without physical intervention, though.

I love the way that look with the black and purple. by the way the reason i dont complain about the paint job is because i only paid 500 dollars for it so its not a major loss you know. but i am really liking that black thanks for the photo shop that helped alot.

I figured it would help bring out the look of the car. It doesnt look bad at all, once I swapped the rims for some wider ones, and changed the top color to Black. Yeah $500 aint bad at all for that marble paint, but you can still change the green, its never too late. And you're welcome. :D

That is "Great" news, see what a lil photo-chop will do? :D I am anxious as well!

For the photoshop I "Polygonal Lasso Tooled" the green area and "Desatured" the color and brought down the "contrast/brightness". That came out fine, but then the purple still had the green like radiating towards the top... but anyway my goal was achieved, influence a change of heart :D

I'm sure if he'd live in the states and if he did that to his usdm, he would get the same treatment as you would. But since it's jdm, turbo, and awd he'll probably get more sick props from peers rather than criticism (well, at least in the states lol). I'm sure not everyone will think it's clean (too much decals) but at least he has the "show & go" part down. 8)

The point is that in order get where you're going, you got put effort in both the asthectics as well as the performance side because right now you have little chance on winning at shows especially in Texas since there's always a Galant there that is one step ahead of you. You did so much effort to your body work I would hate to see you lose to someone who put (a little more) effort to their performance line. I'm assuming you still have money left over for the project, make it happen.

What is with the 2 tone paints and the Altezzas? Is that a pre-requisite or somethin? I'm not a fan of "that" two tone, or the Altezzas. It is a good paint job and those are nice colors, just not together. The first thing I thought was Green Bay Packers! But 2 each his own...
