Hey guys, Im trying to order some Volk wheels but they want to know what offset i want. I tried searching and it brought up a bunch of unrelated topics. Im getting 18x7.5, 5x114.3, Volk Racing GT-V wheels, just need the right offset. What should i go with?

Than go with +40mm

A +40mm 18 x 7.5 wheel will fit just fine.

If you go 18 x 8 or 18 x 8.5, then you'll want something higher, like +42 or +45.

The OEM setting for ours is +45 or +46, I forgot, but you can get away with as low as +38 and as high as +50, depending on the width of the wheel (x 7", x 7.5", x 8" or x 8.5"). You'll probably have to roll your fenders if you go 8.5" on the width, even with a +45 or higher. I had 18 x 8" +45 RacingHarts and it tucked perfectly.

Neither were my Racingharts!

18 x 7.5 will fit fine, nothing to worry about (unless they're +30 or made for Rear Wheel Drive, then you'd have a problem).
Just make sure they are for front wheel drive cars and you'll be alright.

If you use the guidelines Dave and I posted above and visit this site below, it'll give you a better indicator of what will work on your Galant (although Volk Wheels aren't on this site)

You're welcome. That's what we're here for.

Oh hey, I just looked at your post again. What is the wheel width of that +49mm wheel? If you could get that in an 18 x 8" +49, that would be tight. It would have a nice lip on it (depending on the wheel you buy).

For the record Arty, my summer wheels are 19x8" +40mm offset. I had to roll my fenders, but I also have a GTZ.

I can not wait to see pictures of your G with the Volks!

Here's a pic of my old Racinghart's - 18x8 +45.
They have a nice 2" or 2.5" chrome lip and I didn't have to roll the fenders.

I cant either man, I just completed the order. I think im gonna transfer over a set of BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDs from my current wheels. They're brand new. I went with the +43mm offset by the way.

Hey Dave, I just looked at some of your Cardomain pics... you wrecked the Red Galant?! Let me rephrase that... you got in an accident? Damn!! Do you have any updated pics of your GTZ?

Rich,

Wrecked is an understatement.

I always loved your racing harts.

Arty, you got some great tires there too! I have the KDW2s on my 19s.

Thanks. I still have them. I just have to put the silicone sealant back on them and they're good to go. They even have a 4x100 bolt pattern, too (hint... they fit my Sentra!) Unfortunately, I'm bad at curbing my wheels, that's why I've been sticking with the cheap ADR's, but I haven't banged up the RH's yet...

Ive never really liked the KDW2s, but i guess living in GA lets me get away with Dry traction only tires. It rains here but i can still do 70 safely
