View Full Version : doors seem to leak black tar during hot weather

everytime the weather gets warm something that seems like sticky tar keeps leaking from my doors. its been doing this for years now. i usually just clean it up with some turpinoid but its getting to be a hassle am i the only one with this problem? i have a 1999 gtz

thats the glue that they use to put that plastic behind your door panel and the door you could try taking off your door panel and cleaning it or try and remove it

Mine did that and I removed the door panel and removed as much of it as I could, no more tar.

Thanks i dropped off the GTZ at the shop today to get panels removed and glue taken out. i was qouted $65 so i told them to do it. i hope this solves the hot weather tar problem once and for all.

Mine never leaked but when I removed the door panel I saw some dirty plastic held together with black adhesive. I tried to get most of the black glue to stick to the plastic as I removed it and used a plastic spatula to get the excess glue off. It's a fun Summertime project.

lol my glue turned into a rock, and i live in florida, it just cracks off lol
