Yes, as talked about months after B2N8 and at Farewell Breakfast B2N8, we are moving the Annual Back 2 Normal Meet back to the Memorial Day weekend. Which means Thrusday Night - Sunday Morning will be nothing but fun in the town of Normal, IL. http://www.club3g.com/forum/images/smilies/woot.gif

I have started this thread so as we can get excited and pumped for this years coming event to be held on May 23-25 2008. What do we want to do, what do you want to change, how can we make it better. I want to hear from you! I already sent an email to our contact at the factory and will be talking with her all the way up to the 21st of May. So lets get them ideas flowing.

depending on the hotel, you can go all the way from about $35-150+. just really depends on what the hotel is and quality/location.

At the last show there was about 8-10 TGC Members. About 15 Club3G members, and I would estimate about 150-200 cars total. But the real fun is AFTER the show!!! GO CARTS FTW.

Woh woh woh everyone. :lol: It is great to hear everyone interested in coming and it is great to know. Seeing this kind of responce let the factory know there is a hell of a following after all these years. :D

As for the hotel, and the attendence, theads will be made will all the info you need in the coming months ahead. We still have plenty of time for all of that, I am just getting the word out of the date and to see if anyone has any ideas of what we can all do.

As stated above, we will have a thread on the hotel. We (as a group) take over the Days Inn in Normal. That is the hotel we ALL stay at, and I set up a bock of rooms for all who attend the event. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THREAD.

I also want to set up an event beside the car show for Saturday, hence the Poker Run idea. So if ANYONE, would like to help who is in the area, PLEASE ME ME!!

As far as number attending, we have anywhere from 30-45 cars that attend. Hope to have more this year with the excitement of the Galants and the 4Gs. The last 2 years have been very poor turnout for these 2 models.

Its not really a "show". They do show off some cars, do dyno comps, and have some judging here and there, buts moreso just a Mitsubishi Owners Day. aka one big ass car meet. (plus some families and free gear). It's a dope time, I suggest you come. See some tight cars, and like Eric said, the time After MOD is the best. lol

What is the difference between the two?
When is MOD?

which is the bigger event of the two?

I was under the impression that this was the bigger event and have been planning on how to go. someone enlighten me please?

Yeah, I'm sure they're two different events. Factory MOD is hosted by Mitsu... and they give out free stuff just like at MOD in Cypress. I'm guessing Factory MOD is a larger event, who knows?

MOD, Mitsubishi Owners Day, is held at the factory. That involves hundreds of outsider Mitsu owners, plus the "B2N" crew from Club3G, TGC, and friends.

B2N is just a name for a meet between TGC and Club3G, which takes place before and after Factory MOD.
I was there last year. We (Club 3G and TGC) stay at the Days Inn, hang out the night before MOD. Go to MOD, then after the factory event is over, we go out and party/hang/whatever.

But if Factory MOD is slated for mid-late summer, then what is exactly is B2N (let alone why that date) ? I don't feel like leading a caravan of Galants from Texas just to "chill for the night". You guys have it all wrong.

MOD has no date set yet. Thats put together by and for Mitsubishi. Thats is far more larger of a meet that B2N.

B2N is done by club3G and TGC. They have some friends and shit come. It's much smaller, but still a good meet. I have only been to MOD. B2N I have missed the last couple.

Note that this thread said B2N 9, there have only been 2 MOD meets. Thats it. there, I cleared it up.

They are two different meets. Back 2 Normal is a smaller user organized meet, not organized by Mitsu like Factory Mod. When Ive ben to B2N, we all crashed at the Days Inn, had a party/meet at the hotel Friday night, a show/BBQ Saturday afternoon at a park, then everyone rolls to the factory to get a tour and picture up front, usually a rally to a resteraunt Sat night, then gokarts Sunday afternoon.

For Factory MOD, I didnt show up till Saturday morning, just went straight to the factory where Mitsu setup the meet. Had everyone organized by type of car, big tents with free giveaways and showing off some of their past/present cars. They had the big raffle giveaway late in the afternoon, everyone started to leave around 5 or 6? I cant remember.

B2N /= Factory MOD.

Back to Normal is a meet that was set up way back in the year 2000 that alowed the owners of the 3rd Gen Eclipse, Dodge Stratus, Galant to come together to visit the birth place of our cars. Like " MOD" B2N is of the same nature, but only to those who's cars were actually built in the Normal, IL plant (Not Lancers, Evos, ect). Where MOD is and "Mitsubishi Owners Day" open to everyone, just having it at the North America Plant.

So no one else gets confused, B2N is the original. The select few who started this meet back in 2000 have since moved on and are not apart of it now. I am the 4 person to take over the meet from the 2 guys that brought this all together. Again, this is not my meet, it is everyones, I just help to make it happen. B2N is also a tad better than MOD, to where our group has a tad more things at the factory and it is on a more personal level. We have the personal tour, special shopping not open to everyone or even at MOD, Meet and great with the tech, and owners, to where we are alowed to ask questions and they answer.

Trust me... B2N will be better. I am a season vet, and once you have been to a MOD, you have been to them all.

Does anyone know what weekend MOD will be. I think having one on one time with Factory techs, and being able to tour the plant would be cool for my first time going to either. Plus it's longer, and if i'm driving all that way i don't want to have to turn right around and drive back. Right now (depending on the turnout) B2N is better for me.
